WON TON WRAPPER APPETIZERS
Cheesy sausage-based filling in little cups made from baked won ton wrappers. The baked cups and filling may be prepared a day or two in advance (store covered in the refrigerator) and assembled shortly before serving.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a miniature muffin pan with cooking spray.
- Insert wonton wrappers into the muffin pan so as to form small cups. Bake 5 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow the baked wrappers to cool. Remove from the pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix the sausage, Monterey Jack, Cheddar, black olives and Ranch-style dressing. Fill the baked wonton wrapper cups with the mixture.
- Bake the filled wonton wrappers 10 to 15 minutes, until the sausage mixture is bubbly and slightly brown. Watch closely so the wonton wrappers do not burn.

- In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomato sauce, garlic powder and basil. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until thickened, 8-10 minutes., Meanwhile, press wonton wrappers into miniature muffin cups coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° until lightly browned, 8-9 minutes. , Spoon sausage mixture into cups. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake until cheese is melted, 5-7 minutes longer. Serve warm. Freeze option: Cool appetizers; freeze them in freezer containers, separating layers with waxed paper. These wontons have a great taste; almost like sausage gravy. I got this recipe from cooks.com and adapted it to my tastes. Cooking times and servings are just estimates.

Steps:
- Cook and drain sausage.
- Add cream cheese, A1 Steak Sauce and garlic powder, mix well.
- Chill mixture until cream cheese becomes cool.
- Put 1 to 1-1/2 teaspoons of mixture onto the center of a wonton wrapper.
- Moisten edges of wonton with water.
- Fold wonton over to form a triangle and seal edges.
- Fold all three corners over to form what looks like a envelope; seal corners together with water.
- Repeat with remaining wonton wrappers.
- Chill wontons in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Deep fry or pan fry; only takes about 15 seconds or less per side.

Cook, crumbling the sausage into small pieces, until the sausage is no longer pink and cooked through. Drain the grease very well (so the bottom of the wonton bites aren't greasy after baking). Stir in the shredded cheese and ranch (or blue cheese) dressing.
