- In a large bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, baking powder and salt; mix well. Stir in butter. Pat evenly into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

- Cook and stir until butter melts.
- Add in the remaining ingredients, mix well.
- Pour into a greased 9x7-inch brownie pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.
- Cool, and then cut into squares.

HOT TEA TODDY

- In a coffee mug, place the tea bag, Scotch, and honey. Add enough boiling water (about 3/4 cup) to fill the mug. Add the cinnamon and lemon, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bag and cinnamon stick.
- Sprinkle lightly with the nutmeg and serve.

My mom always made these when I was growing up. I have no idea where the recipe came from, but everyone loves them. They're very simple and yummy. My family always digs into them before they're cool so we tend to eat lots of crumbs instead of bars, which is just fine with us.

- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
- 3. Add brown sugar and stir to combine.
- 4. Remove from heat and stir in oats, salt and baking powder.
- 5. Put mixture into 8"x8" baking pan. Press it down lightly.
- 6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
- 7. (They need to cool a little before cutting, but as soon as they're removed from the oven, be sure to go around the side edges of the pan with a knife so they don't stick to the side as it cools.)
