Sesame Broccoli image

Steps:

  • Cook 1 bunch broccoli spears in a steamer set over simmering water, 10 minutes. Pulse a 1-inch piece peeled ginger, 1 garlic clove, 2 tablespoons each water and sesame oil, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, and a pinch each of sugar and salt in a mini food processor. Drizzle over the broccoli and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

Steps:

  • Set a steamer basket in a large saucepan filled with 2 inches simmering water; add Broccolini. Cover and steam until crisp-tender, about 6 minutes. Transfer to a platter. Season with salt and pepper, drizzle with sesame oil, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Sesame Broccoflower® Stir Fry image

Steps:

  • Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup chicken stock. Heat wok or frying pan over high heat. Add sesame oil to coat pan. Add Broccoflower®, red peppers, stir-fry for 1 minute. Add red onion, 1 tablespoon sesame seeds and continue to cook for one minute.
  • Add chicken stock and bring to a boil. Add cornstarch mixture and soy sauce and bring back to a boil while stirring. When sauce has thickened, remove from heat. Place in serving dish and sprinkle remaining sesame seeds on top.

This is how I make broccoflower, but it works well with broccoli, too. Two tbsp butter is usually plenty, but if you have a large head of broccoflower, you may want the 3 tbsp.

Lemon Dijon Sauced Broccoflower or Broccoli image

Steps:

  • Cook or steam broccoflower flowerets until fork-tender -- about 7-9 minutes; drain.
  • While flowerets are cooking, combine in a large bowl, melted butter, mustard, lemon juice, salt and sugar and mix.
  • Place cooked drained flowerets into bowl with the sauce and tooss to coat.
  • Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and gently toss.
  • Serve.

1 head broccoflower, washed and seperated into flowerets
2 -3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons shredded parmesan cheese
