CHEWY HONEY GRANOLA BARS
There's sweetness from the honey, chewiness from the raisins, hints of chocolate and cinnamon, and a bit of crunch. To save a few for later, wrap individual bars and place in a resealable freezer container. When you want a satisfying treat on short notice, just grab one and let it thaw for a few minutes. -Tasha Lehman, Williston, Vermont

- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter a 9-by-13-inch baking pan; line bottom with parchment paper, and butter parchment. Set aside. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, brown sugar, flour, and baking soda. Stir in the pecans, raisins, chocolate chips, sunflower seeds, and wheat germ, and set aside.
- Place apricots in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the metal blade, and process until smooth, about 60 seconds. Add the butter, and process until smooth. - Invert onto a baking sheet, and lift to remove pan; peel off parchment paper. Reinvert onto a cutting board, and cut into 24 bars, each about 1 1/4 by 3 inches. Bars can be wrapped in waxed paper and stored in airtight containers at room temperature up to 2 weeks.
