CRISPY CHOCOLATE SQUARES

Crispy Chocolate Squares image

Steps:

  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the marshmallows, peanut butter, chocolate chips and butter. Cover and microwave on high for 1-1/2 minutes. Stir until well blended (the mixture will be lumpy). Add cereal and peanuts; stir until well coated. Spread into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. pan. , For the frosting, combine chocolate chips, butter and milk in another microwave-safe bowl. Cover and microwave on high for 1 minute. Add sugar and vanilla. With an electric mixer, beat frosting until smooth. Spread over the cereal mixture. Cover and refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours. Cut into squares.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Melt shortening over low heat. Pour into 9 inch baking pan. Layer bread crumbs evenly in bottom of pan.
  • Layer coconut, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and nuts over bread crumbs. Drizzle condensed milk over top.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool before cutting into bars.

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan; remove from heat and stir in the sugar and graham cracker crumbs. Spread the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven until slightly firm, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir the coconut and condensed milk together in a bowl; spread over the baked crust and return to oven for 12 minutes more. Set aside to cool at least 10 minutes.
  • Melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler over just-barely simmering water, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching. Stir the almonds into the melted chocolate; spread evenly over the cooled coconut layer. Allow to cool until the chocolate sets.

No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Bars image

Steps:

  • Grease a 9-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and vanilla extract. Add oats and cook over low heat until combined, 2 to 3 minutes. Spread 1/2 of the oat mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Melt chocolate chips with peanut butter in small heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth, about 4 minutes. Pour chocolate mixture over oat layer and spread evenly. Crumble remaining oat mixture over chocolate, pressing in gently.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and chill until set, 2 to 3 hours or overnight. Bring to room temperature before cutting into bars.
