Marinated chicken wings and drumettes are baked until crispy in this appetizer recipe with an Asian flair.

Steps:

  • Whisk together the garlic, green onion, sugar, five-spice powder, fish sauce, soy sauce, chili sauce, and salt in a bowl. Arrange the chicken pieces in a shallow, non-metallic dish. Spoon the sauce mixture over the chicken to evenly coat. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  • Arrange the marinated chicken on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until crispy, about 45 minutes. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Steps:

  • Rinse the chicken wings under cold running water, then drain and blot dry completely with paper towels. Place the wings in a large bowl and sprinkle with the garlic salt, pepper, cayenne, and oregano. Season just 1 side of the wings for mild, or for hotter wings, turn the wings to coat the other side with seasonings and then cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
  • Preheat a grill to medium-high.
  • Grill chicken wings, turning once, until the juices run clear when pierced with a fork. Serve immediately with a side of Blue Cheese Dressing.
  • Blend all ingredients together in a food processor. Transfer to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve.

2 tablespoons fresh Greek oregano leaves
2 cups Blue Cheese Dressing, recipe follows
1/4 pound blue cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon celery seed

Steps:

  • Cut chicken wings into 3 sections; discard wing tip sections. Combine the onions, chili sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic, sugar and five-spice powder in a large container. Add wings and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight., Drain chicken, discarding marinade. Place wings in a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan., Bake at 425° for 25-30 minutes or until no longer pink, turning every 10 minutes. Squeeze lime wedges over wings.

  • Mix oregano, granulated garlic, paprika, sugar, 4 tsp. salt, and ½ tsp. MSG in a small bowl. Arrange chicken wings on a foil-lined rimmed baking sheet. Season all over with spice mix. Let sit at room temperature 30 minutes, or cover and chill up to 2 days.
  • Place racks in center and upper third of oven; preheat to 375°. Drizzle wings with oil and toss to coat. Bake on center rack, turning with tongs halfway through, until cooked through and skin is golden brown, 30–35 minutes.
  • Remove from oven. Heat broiler. Broil wings on upper rack, turning every 2–3 minutes, until skin is deeply browned and starting to char at the edges, 5–7 minutes (watch them closely).
  • Transfer wings to a platter, season with salt and a little more MSG. Top with herbs and lime and cucumber wedges.

  • Add the Paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, ginger powder, sriracha sauce, salt, and oil olive in a bowl. Mix till well combined.
  • Wash the chicken and pat it dry with a kitchen towel/paper towel. Add in the marinade to the chicken and mix till it's well rubbed all over the chicken and all parts are covered in the marinade. Cover the bowl and put in the fridge to marinate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  • Bring the chicken out of the fridge, line a baking tray with baking paper, and arrange the wings on it in a single layer. Put the tray in the middle rack on the oven. Bake at a temperature of 175 C for 10 minutes then increase to 200C /400F and bake for another 15 minutes or till done.
  • When it's done, bring the baking tray out and let the chicken rest in the tray for 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy.
