STEAMED STEAK TACOS

These are so good. You steam them in Ziploc steam bags and pop them in the microwave. So easy and delicious. Take them out of the microwave and add your favorite taco fillings (tomatoes, onions, lettuce, cheese, etc) Enjoy this easy recipe....

Steps:

  • Combine steak, flour, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, oregano and salt in a steam bag. Seal bag and shake gently, patting into a single layer. Place bag in microwave, on a microwave safe plate.
  • Microwave on high power for 4 or 5 minutes. Allow bag to stand for for a minute or two before handling. Gently shake bag to distribute seasonings. Carefully open bag. Add lime juice and hot sauce to steak. Serve on warm tortillas and your favorite taco fillings.

1 pound(s) sirloin tip steak cut into 1 /4 inch pieces
1/2 teaspoon(s) chili powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) oregano
2 tablespoon(s) lime juice
6 dash(es) tobasco sauce
2 tablespoon(s) flour
1 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
- chopped tomatoes, onions, lettuce, cheese and taco sauce
1 large ziploc steam bag

Steps:

  • Sprinkle steak with pepper, pressing to adhere.
  • Heat grill pan over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add steak to pan; grill 6 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness. Place steak on a cutting board; let stand 5 minutes.
  • Cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices. Mix lime juice, olive oil and garlic and drizzle over steak; sprinkle with salt.
  • Heat tortillas on grill pan coated with cooking spray 20 seconds on each side or until lightly charred.
  • Heat scallions on grill until lightly charred.
  • Divide steak among tortillas.
  • Top with romaine, red cabbage, avocado and pickled red onions.
  • Garnish with grilled scallion.

Steps:

  • In a Medium or Large Ziploc® Zip 'n Steam™ Bag, combine steak, flour, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, oregano and salt. Seal bag and shake gently to combine ingredients. Pat steak into single layer. Place bag in microwave., Cook on full power for 4 minutes (Medium bag) or 3-1/2 minutes (Large bag). If needed, microwave for additional 30-second intervals until steak is well done. Allow bag to stand for 1 minute before handling. Gently shake bag to distribute seasonings and carefully open., Add lime juice and hot pepper sauce if desired. Spoon beef mixture onto tortillas. If desired, top with cheese and serve with picante sauce and sour cream.

  • Place the flank steak in a baking dish. In a medium mixing bowl or large measuring cup, stir together the olive oil, garlic, orange juice, lime juice, cumin, salt, and pepper. Pour over the steak. Cover tightly with plastic and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 8 hours (do not marinate for more than 8 hours or the steak will break down and soften too much).
  • When ready to grill, remove the steak from the refrigerator and let stand at room temperature while you prepare any toppings and preheat the grill. Preheat an outdoor grill or indoor grill pan over medium-high heat (alternatively, you can cook the steak under your broiler—place your oven rack in the upper third, usually the second closest rack to the top). Brush the grill grates with oil. Remove the steak from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Grill (or broil) the steak for about 3-4 minutes per side, flipping once, until medium-rare (The steak should read 135 degrees F on an instant read thermometer.) Remove the steak to a cutting board and cover with foil. Let rest for 5 minutes (this allows the juices to sink into the meat), then cut the steak into thin, 1/4-inch slices, slicing it across the grain.
  • To heat the tortillas: place them in a dry skillet heated over medium-high or heat them on the grill for about 30 seconds per side, until warmed through.
  • Assemble the tacos: fill the tortillas with a few slices of beef. Sprinkle with cheese and any desired toppings. Enjoy immediately.
