Steps:

  • For the salmon: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with nonstick aluminum foil and set aside.
  • Brush all sides of the fish with the olive oil. Sprinkle the flesh side of the fish with the bagel seasoning and drizzle with the honey. Place the fish on the prepared baking sheet skin-side down. Bake until it flakes easily, 10 to 15 minutes. Allow to come to room temperature.
  • For the dressing: Whisk together the mayonnaise, lime juice, honey and wasabi in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • For the bowl: Just be pretty. Start layering at the bottom of two bowls with the lettuce, then add the rice. Spritz with the juice from a lemon and lime wedge, then continue with the fish fillets in the center of each. Spritz again, then add the avocado, scallions, cilantro, mango and onion around the edges and spritz again with lemon and lime juice. Finally, drizzle with the dressing.

Two 4- to 6-ounce salmon fillets, skin on and at room temperature
Olive oil, for brushing
2 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning
1 teaspoon hot honey
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons fresh lime or lemon juice
1 teaspoon hot honey
1 teaspoon prepared wasabi
2 handfuls spring mix lettuce blend
1 cup cooked wild rice, at room temperature
3 lemon wedges
3 lime wedges
1 avocado, thinly sliced or chopped
2 scallions, thinly sliced on the bias (both white and green parts)
1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1/2 cup chopped fresh mango
4 to 6 paper-thin slices red onion

THE BEST HONEY-GLAZED SALMON

This is the easiest, most flavorful honey-baked salmon that the whole family will be able to enjoy. It comes together in 30 minutes and only requires eight ingredients. Oh, and that honey-lime drizzle at the end is to die for - no one will judge you for slurping it down! Baking the salmon at a high heat not only quickens the cooking time, but also helps to crisp up the honey glaze and spice mixture that coats the fish.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Spray the foil with cooking spray if you plan on eating the salmon skin. (If you do not plan on eating the skin, you can skip this step.) Place the salmon fillets, skin-side down, onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Whisk together the honey, lime zest, and juice in a small bowl. Remove 2 tablespoons of the mixture to another small bowl and set aside. Brush the remaining honey-lime mixture over top of the salmon fillets.
  • Combine the brown sugar, cumin, paprika, garlic, 2 teaspoons salt and a few grinds of pepper in a medium bowl. Press the brown sugar mixture all over the salmon (about 1 heaping teaspoon on each portion). Crimp all 4 sides of the foil to create a border around the salmon to help collect the juices so they don't spread and burn. Bake until the glaze is shiny and turning golden in some spots, and the salmon is firm and flakes easily when pressed, 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Drizzle the reserved honey-lime mixture over top of the salmon just before serving.

Nonstick cooking spray, optional
Four 6-ounce portions skin-on salmon fillets
1/4 cup honey
Zest and juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 clove garlic, grated
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • To make the glaze: In a measuring cup, combine 1/4 cup honey and 2 Tbsp soy sauce. Stir until well combined and set aside.
  • Season both sides of your boneless, skinless salmon filets with salt and pepper. Pour 1/4 cup flour into a shallow plate and dredge both sides of salmon in flour, shaking off excess flour.
  • Brush the first side of salmon generously with half of the glaze and once oil is hot, add salmon to the pan (glaze-side-down). In the pan, brush the second side generously with remaining glaze. Saute salmon on the first side for 3 minutes, turn and sauté second side another 3 minutes. Glaze should be caramelized and salmon should be just cooked through and opaque inside when flaked.

  • Place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking dish large enough to hold the salmon in an even layer (such as a 9x13-inch baking dish) with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  • While the oven heats, combine the honey, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then turn the heat to medium low and simmer, stirring often, until thickened but still pourable, about 3 minutes. The mixture will bubble up as it heats. Let cool 3 minutes.
  • With paper towels, pat the salmon fillets dry. Arrange the fillets evenly in the pan, ensuring that they are not overcrowded.
