MARINATED FLANK STEAK

A wonderful flank steak on the grill recipe I invented that friends just love! My girls think this is great, and it doesn't take long to grill. This also works great when sliced and used for fajitas.

Marinated Flank Steak image

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix the oil, soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic, and ground black pepper. Place meat in a shallow glass dish. Pour marinade over the steak, turning meat to coat thoroughly. Cover, and refrigerate for 6 hours.
  • Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
  • Oil the grill grate. Place steaks on the grill, and discard the marinade. Grill meat for 5 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.

¼ cup red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 ½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

So much better than store bought!! It seems like alot of ingredients but all are so handy -- just toss it together in the morning and you will be very glad you did come dinner time!

Steps:

  • Mix first 7 ingredients*** I use my trusty Tupperware Shaker!
  • Take a sharp knife and pierce meat along the grain on both sides.
  • Mix ginger, onion and garlic and rub on both sides.
  • Place in large glass dish and pour marinade over and refrigerate for 8-10 hours, Turning once.

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon chili oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 large lemon, juice of
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
2 green onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped

Easy Marinated Grilled Flank Steak image

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, whisk barbecue sauce, wine and lemon juice until blended. Pour 1 cup marinade into a shallow dish. Add beef and turn to coat. Cover; refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade., Drain beef, discarding marinade in dish. Grill steak, covered, over medium heat until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°), 6-8 minutes on each side. Let stand 5 minutes before thinly slicing across the grain. Serve with reserved marinade.

  • Brush the grill with a little bit of oil, then add your steak, sear it on both sides, then turn down the heat to medium, and cook each side about 7 minutes, so roughly 15 minutes total. We like ours slightly pink inside, so if you prefer yours more well done, just cook it a little longer.
  • Note: marinated flank steaks will flare the first time you set them on the grill! Just be prepared for that.
  • Once the steak is done, remove it from the barbecue, cover it in tin foil and let it rest about 5 minutes before you slice it up and serve it.
