2 whole cloves
1 orange, thinly sliced

Bright and pleasantly tart, this cranberry punch can be served with or without Champagne.

Cranberry, Tangerine, and Pomegranate Punch image

Steps:

  • Spear three cranberries alternately with two mint leaves on each wooden skewer. Place skewers on a baking sheet; cover with damp paper towels, and refrigerate up to one hour.
  • In a large punch bowl, stir together fruit juices. Fill the glasses with ice, and ladle about 1/2 cup punch into each glass; top with sparkling wine. Garnish each glass with a swizzle stick.

1 bag (12 ounces) fresh cranberries, for swizzle sticks
1 bunch mint, for swizzle sticks
2 cups freshly squeezed pomegranate juice (about five pomegranates)
3 cups freshly squeezed tangerine juice (about seven tangerines)
5 cups cranberry-juice cocktail
2 bottles (750 ml each) sparkling wine or Champagne

Tangerine Tossed Salad image

Steps:

  • In a small skillet, cook and stir the almonds and 2 tablespoons sugar over medium-low heat for 25-30 minutes or until the sugar is melted and the almonds are toasted. Remove from the heat. Peel and section the tangerines, reserving 1 tablespoon juice., In a large bowl, combine the lettuce, onions, tangerines and almonds. In a small bowl, whisk the vinegar, oil, salt, pepper, reserved juice and remaining sugar. Pour over salad; toss to coat.

Pomegranate-Tangerine Sorbet image

Steps:

  • Combine sugar and water in heavy medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to boil. Remove from heat and cool completely. Whisk in pomegranate juice, tangerine juice and peel. Transfer mixture to ice cream maker and process according to manufacturer's instructions. Freeze sorbet in covered container until firm.
  • Scoop sorbet into wineglasses. Garnish with mint sprigs and serve.

3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 cups pure pomegranate juice
1 cup tangerine or orange juice
1 tablespoon finely grated tangerine peel or orange peel

  • In a large stockpot combine the cider, tangerine juice, pomegranate juice, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and cloves. Place over medium-high heat and bring to a simmer; simmer gently for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the cinnamon sticks, ladle into mugs and garnish with tangerine slices. Serve hot.
