Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Combine first 6 ingredients. Add beef and pork; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into 1-1/2-in. balls. Place on a greased rack in a 15x10x1-in. pan. Bake until a thermometer reads 160° (165° if using ground turkey), 35-40 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, combine sauce ingredients; bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. Gently stir in meatballs.

I used a recipe similar to this but it only had three of the ingredients and I added more items to make it flavorful and to our liking...hope you do too!   • Melt buter in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add onions and cook, stirring until it begins to soften, 2-3 minutes.
  • Add garlic and cook until golden, about 3 minutes.

  • Stir, reduce heat to medium-low and cook until tomatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
  • Add salt, cayenne and thyme.
