TILAPIA IN MUSTARD CREAM SAUCE

I can't say that I have made this dish yet. I have some tilapia in the freezer, so this will be made soon. I will add any changes then. Chicken can also be substituted; and tomatoes and spinach can be substituted for the mushrooms.

Tilapia in Mustard Cream Sauce image

Steps:

  • Sprinkle fish with thyme, pepper, and salt.
  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat and coat pan with cooking spray.
  • Add fish and cook 1 min on each side.
  • Add broth, and bring to a boil.
  • Cover and reduce heat, simmer 5 minute.
  • Add mushrooms and cook uncovered 1 min or until mushrooms are tender.
  • Remove fish from pan and keep warm.
  • Add cream and mustard to pan; stir with a whisk until well combined.
  • Cook 1 min or until thoroughly heated.
  • Serve sauce over fish.

4 (6 ounce) tilapia fillets
1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
cooking spray
3/4 cup chicken broth
1 ounce portabella mushroom, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons whipping cream
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Tilapia with Creamy Sauce image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray. Place the tilapia fillets on the sheet, and coat them lightly with cooking spray. Spoon the melted margarine over each fillet, then drizzle with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Season with lemon pepper and 2 tablespoons of dill.
  • Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.
  • While the fish is baking, combine the cream cheese, 5 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of dill in a small bowl. Heat in the microwave for 1 minute and 10 seconds, then stir to blend.
  • Place fillets onto serving plates, and spoon sauce around them in a decorative fashion.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Place tilapia fillets on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  • Bake tilapia in the preheated oven until opaque and easily flaked with a fork, 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Combine chopped tomatoes, olives, onion, and capers in a small saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until tomatoes begin to break down and tapenade flavors are combined, 5 to 10 minutes. Spoon tapenade over baked fillets.

  • Steam the fish in a steamer, or if you don’t have one you can use my splatter guard steamer method. If using that method, fill a saute pan with about three inches of water. Bring it to a boil.
  • Place the splatter guard on top of the pot and spread out the fish filets. Make sure they aren’t overlapping. I can fit about three tilapia filets at a time, so I steam it in two batches.
  • Steam the fish for about 7-10 minutes, depending on the size of the fish, until it’s opaque, and flaky at its thickest part when poked with a fork.
