TOFFEE BROWNIE TRIFLE
Steps:
- 1. Prepare and bake brownies according to the package directions for cake-like brownies. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Cool completely.
- 2. In a mixing bowl, beat the milk and pudding mixes on low speed for 2 minutes. Fold in the whipped topping.
- 3. Cut brownies into 1-inch cubes. Place 1/2 of the brownies in a trifle dish. Cover with 1/2 the pudding. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with chopped candy bars.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray.
- Make brownie mix as directed on box, using water, oil and eggs and adding coffee granules. Spread batter in pan. Bake as directed on box. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
- Cut brownies into 1-inch squares. Place half of the squares in bottom of 3-quart glass bowl. Make pudding mix as directed on box for pudding, using milk. Pour half of the pudding over brownies in bowl. Top with half each of the toffee bits and whipped topping. Repeat with remaining brownies, pudding, toffee bits and whipped topping.
- Cover; refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving. Store covered in refrigerator.

This is from the December 2002 edition of Quick Cooking, I believe. This is so easy and so wonderful! I am not allowed to come to work on my birthday if I don't bring this - I am asked all year long if my birthday is soon just so people can get a taste of this. I end up giving out the recipe every year! (Prep time and serving size are a guess and do not include chilling time).

Steps:
- Prepare and bake brownies as directed on package.
- Cool completely, then cut into 1-inch cubes.

- Pour the brownie mix into a large mixing bowl, add the milk chocolate chips to the brownie mix. Follow the directions and add any additional ingredients called for on the box. Best to use a 9x13 pan and bake for about 25 minutes. Cool and then cut into 1-inch squares.
- In a large bowl, blend the pudding mix and the milk for about 2 minutes. A wire whisk works well for this step. Then fold in about 3 cups of cool whip.
- Begin to layer about 1/2 the brownies in the bottom of a large trifle bowl, half of the pudding mixture, about 1/2 cup toffee bits and pieces, and a layer of cool whip. Repeat with another layer. Top with remaining toffee bits and pieces.
