Steps:

  • 1. Spread each slice of rye bread with a little of the salad dressing. Top with a thin slice of corned beef; cover with a teaspoon of sauerkraut. Cut each slice of cheese into 6 pieces; place a piece on top of each appetizer. Place on cookie sheet; bake in 400^ oven for 6-8 minutes, or until cheese melts. Can also be broiled for 3 to 5 minutes, if desired.

36 slice party rye bread
thousand island dressing
4 oz pkg. thinly sliced cooked corned beef
1 c sauerkraut, drained and snipped fine
6 slice processed swiss cheese

Trump Card Cocktail Reubens image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a small bowl combine dressing and horseradish.
  • Using half of the butter, lightly brush half of the bread on one side.
  • Place on a 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan, buttered side down.
  • Spread the dressing mixture evenly on each slice of the bread.
  • Top with corned beef and then cheese.
  • Brush remaining slices of bread with remaining butter, and place atop cheese, butter side up.
  • Bake for 8 minutes.
  • Turn, and press lightly with a spatula.
  • Return to oven and bake 5 minutes more or until golden brown.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes; cut in half diagonally.
  • Serve with small bowls of mustards for dipping, if desired.

Steps:

  • 1. Toast bread on one side in broiler and then turn the bread over.
  • 2. Squeeze a quarter-size dollop of Thousand Island dressing on center of each untoasted side and place on the baking sheet. May use mustard instead of the dressing if desired.
  • 3. Add 1 slice of folded pastrami or corned beef and a forkful of sauerkraut to each slice. Top with 1/2 slice of cheese.
  • 4. Place under broiler until cheese melts and is browning.
