VEGETABLE WREATH WITH DIP
Vegetables and dip are a mainstay at most holiday parties. I like to dress up this appetizer by cutting vegetables into festive shapes and arranging them as a wreath. It's a nice conversation piece. -Edna Hoffman, Hebron, Indiana

- In a small bowl, combine the first five ingredients; mix well. Stir in onions and olives. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours., Transfer dip to a serving bowl; place in the center of a 12-in. round serving plate. Arrange broccoli, green pepper and tomatoes in a wreath shaped around dip., Using a small star cookie cutter, cut out stars from jicama slices; place over wreath. Cut red pepper into five pieces that form the shape of a bow; position on wreath.

- Remove crescent dough from packaging (do not unroll). Cut each tube into 8 slices. Arrange in an 11-in. circle on an ungreased 14-in. pizza pan. , Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes before carefully removing to a serving platter; cool completely., In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, sour cream, dill and garlic powder until smooth. Spread on wreath; top with broccoli, red pepper, chopped celery and celery leaves.

CHRISTMAS BREAD WREATH
Mmm, the flavors of garlic, Parmesan and olive oil make this easy-to-make bread a mouthwatering holiday treat.

Steps:
- Grease cookie sheet. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the cheese onto flat surface. Roll bread dough in cheese into 24-inch rope. Place on cookie sheet, forming circle; pinch ends to seal.
- Snip dough 16 times from the outer edge of the circle at about 1 1/2-inch intervals, cutting two-thirds of the way through, using kitchen scissors. Lift and turn every other section of dough toward the center of the circle pinching ends, so the dough resembles branches if desired.
- Cover and let rise in warm place 1 to 2 hours or until double. (Dough is ready if indentation remains when touched.)
- Heat oven to 350°F. Mix oil and garlic; brush over dough. Sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons cheese. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.

- On a large round platter, place a small serving bowl in the center. Cut all veggies before assembly.
- Stand the red pepper upright. Using a sharp knife, cut off each side. Place each side, skin side down, on a cutting board. The textured inside should be facing you.
- Using a small heart shaped cookie cutter, stamp through one smooth flat area of the red pepper to get your first bow. (Depending on the size and shape of your pepper, the other heart shape may be cut from the same piece, or you may need to use one of the other cut pieces.) - Heat oven to 375°F. Cook bacon as desired until crisp. Drain on paper towel; crumble bacon and set aside.
- Unroll both cans of dough; separate into 16 triangles. On ungreased large cookie sheet, arrange triangles with shortest sides toward center, overlapping in wreath shape and leaving 4-inch round circle open in center (see diagram). Crescent dough points may overlap edge of cookie sheet. Press overlapping dough to flatten.
- Spread cream cheese spread on dough to within 1 inch of points. In small bowl, mix crumbled bacon, broccoli and bell pepper; spoon onto widest part of dough.
- Pull end points of triangles over broccoli mixture and tuck under dough to form ring (filling will be visible). Carefully brush dough with beaten egg; sprinkle with sesame seed.

- Unroll the dough and separate along the pre-cut vertical lines {not the diagnol lines for the individual crescent rolls}. Fold these in half to double the dough.
- On an ungreased cookie sheet or pizza sheet, start laying the dough down to form a circle. Press the dough down so the width of the ring is approximately 4 inches. {NOTE: If you have a smaller cookie sheet, you may not use all of the dough.} I used an upside bowl on the inside of the ring to get a nice even circle and then just placed the dough around it.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. The baking time can really vary depending on the thickness of the dough, so be sure to check it often to avoid burning on the bottom. If your pastry is puffing up a lot, you can poke it with a fork so it doesn't rise as high. Remove from oven and cool completely.
