WINTER STODGE
This is a warm and filling winter meal that has always been a family favourite. It can be served on its own, or with another dish as a filler and you can add to it to taste. Simple and easy.

Steps:
- Fry the onions until soft in a little oil or butter, depending on your taste, then add the beans.
- Heat the mix gently and stir continuously to prevent sticking.
- Add the potatoes (you can cut them to prefered size) and keep stirring until thoroughly cooked.
- Serve in a large bowl with a fried egg on top, or part of a main meal.

- Boil the potatoes until cooked, about 10 minutes.
- Simmer the green onions in milk for about 5 minutes
- Drain potatoes and mash.
- Add the hot milk and scallions, salt, pepper and half the butter and mix.
- Dot with the rest of the butter and serve immediately.

GROUND TURKEY HELPER
Hamburger Skillet Dinner #82750 is a great homemade version of Hamburger Helper. This is the modifications I make to help it fit in my eating plan.

Steps:
- Fry the ground turkey, onion and garlic in large non-stick frying pan for 4-5 minutes.
- Add zucchini and mushrooms.
- Cook for 6-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until turkey is no longer pink.
- Drain.
- Add water, spaghetti sauce, basil,and oregano.
- Heat until boiling.
- Add pasta.
- Reduce heat.
- Cover.
- Simmer for 30 minutes or until pasta is tender but firm and liquid is mostly absorbed.
- Add mozzarella cheese.
- Stir until melted.

WINTER TURKEY HELPER
A low fat version of hamburger helper. Good on a snowy night when you need something warm and filling. Good served with a salad and crusty rolls.

Steps:
- Brown turkey in non-stick frypan with onions, carrots and garlic till turkey is well cooked.
- In small bowl whisk together soup and broth.
- Boil egg noodles in water till tender, drain & set aside.
- Add soup/broth mixture to turkey, simmer 5 minutes, then add noodles.
- Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
