D'S FAMOUS SALSA

This is a Texas recipe I've developed and refined over many years. It's very fast, easy, and I usually have everything on hand. I often give it as gifts to my family back East.

WONDERFUL SALSA

This is the best salsa recipe I've found so far and I've tried about a dozen. I got it from one of the local hospital cookbooks that are sold in my area. I changed it a bit and have been canning it for years. The reason I plant a garden is for this salsa. We would be lost without it. Hope you like it as much as we do. One of our members who is a food scientist took this salsa to work, tested the pH and found it measured under 4.0 (well within the safety limit for boiling water bath processing).

10 HOMEMADE SALSA RECIPES TO SPICE UP SUPPERTIME

From southernliving.com
  • Cast-Iron Salsa. Turn your skillet into a Mexican comal, aka griddle, by slowly charring onions, garlic, and peppers. We like to use this traditional dry char technique because it coaxes sweet, earthy flavors from the vegetables and gives them just a hint of smokiness.
  • Fresh Plum Salsa. Plums, jalapeño, basil, red onion, and a splash of lime juice come together to create a quick and fruity salsa that you and your family will love.
  • Homemade Salsa For Canning. If your own garden (or your farmers' market run) blessed you with "too many" tomatoes, this is the perfect recipe to ensure you can enjoy those beauties for months on end.
  • Pineapple-Pepper Salsa. It's the colorful salsa topping that sets this easy salmon supper apart from the others. Combine pineapple, bell pepper, onion, avocado, cilantro, and lime juice for a fruity, tropical take.
  • Black Bean and Corn Salsa. Summertime is salsa time, but while this recipe calls for fresh corn kernels, you can also make it with frozen corn any time of year.
  • Italian-Style Salsa Verde. This Italianate recipe features jalapeño and banana peppers, parsley, chives, oregano, and garlic. We paired this vibrant condiment with our Pork Tenderloin Sliders, but it would be delicious spooned over steak or in an egg scramble at brunch.
  • Peach Salsa. Why not pair two of our favorite summer fruits in this peach-and-tomato medley. Before serving, be sure to let this salsa sit to absorb the spices.
  • Cucumber Salsa. Why should tomatoes get all the love? You'll be enamored with this refreshing dip featuring cucumber, apple, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
  • Fresh Tomato Salsa. We serve this fresh salsa over our Slow-Cooker Pork Tacos, but you'll enjoy it paired with any chip or Tex-Mex dish. The recipe is so simple, too: stir together tomato, red onion, lime juice, jalapeño, and salt in a bowl.
  • Smoked Tomato Salsa. Recipe: Smoked Tomato Salsa. If you're planning a meal with the smoker, blow your guests away with our Smoked Tomato Salsa. This simple salsa has an incredible depth of flavor that can be achieved only by smoking tomatoes and jalapenos.
