APPLE CHEDDAR NUT BREAD

I love apples and cheddar cheese,it is a great combo. I had to try this recipe which I found in my All-You magazine.The bread is moist and so good,my kids were glad I tried it, its a keeper!

Steps:

  • 1. 1.PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees MIST an 8" x 4" loaf pan with cooking spray(I used Bakers Joy)
  • 2. In a small bowl, SIFT together flour,baking powder,baking soda and salt. Using a electric mixer on medium-high speed,BEAT butter and salt until fluffy and smooth, about 3 minutes.
  • 3. ADD eggs one at a time,BEATING well after each. STIR flour mixture into butter mixture. ADD anise,if desired,shredded apple, mild cheddar cheese and pecans,mixing with a wooden spoon just enough to blend.
  • 4. TRANSFER batter to loaf pan. BAKE for 40-to 55 minutes,or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 5. NOTE: Recipe does not double well. Cool Bread,slice and enjoy. Can be served with cold milk, hot coffee,hot tea and iced tea. Enjoy!

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and 1 cup sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in apple and nuts. , Pour into a greased and floured 9x5-in. loaf pan. Combine cinnamon and remaining sugar; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350° for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack to cool completely.

Apple, Cheddar, and Rosemary Beer Bread image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Sift flour, sugar, and rosemary together into a large mixing bowl. Pour in beer; stir to combine. Stir in apple and Cheddar cheese until well combined; batter will be stiff and sticky. Scoop batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until top is golden brown, 55 to 60 minutes. Remove from oven and pour melted butter on top. Return to oven and bake for another 3 to 5 minutes more.

Steps:

  • Combine the first five ingredients in a medium bowl; stir well.
  • In a separate bowl, combine milk, butter and eggs. Stir well. Add to dry ingredients, stirring until blended.
  • Stir in cheese, apple, and pecans. Pour into a greased and floured 9x5x3 inch breadpan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cook in pan for 5 minutes. Remove from pan and let cool completely on a wire rack.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon walnuts, apples, and cheese. Add the eggs, melted butter or margarine, and milk; stir until well blended. Pour into prepared loaf pan.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F
  • In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Using pastry blender or fork, cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly.
  • Stir in cheese and nuts.
  • Add apple sauce; stir just until moistened.
  • On floured surface, knead dough gently 5 or 6 times.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet; press into 8-inch circle, about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Cut into wedges; separate slightly.
  • Bake at 400°F for 12 to 16 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Serve warm.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Spread bread slices thinly on 1 side with 1/2 stick butter. In a small bowl stir together 1/4 cup granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and sprinkle evenly over buttered sides of bread. Arrange bread, buttered sides up, on baking sheets and toast in batches in middle of oven until just golden, about 15 minutes. Cool cinnamon toast on racks and quarter each slice into triangles, reserving 24 triangles.
  • Peel, quarter, and core apples. Cut apples lengthwise into thin slices and in a bowl toss with lemon juice. In a large heavy skillet melt remaining 1/2 stick butter with brown sugar over moderately high heat, stirring, and add apples and water. Cook mixture, covered, over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes. Remove lid and cook apples until just tender and most liquid is evaporated, about 5 minutes more.
  • Butter a 9-cup oval gratin dish or a 13- by 9- by 2-inch shallow baking dish (about 3 quarts). Arrange one layer of cinnamon toasts in dish, breaking triangles to fit. Spoon half of apple mixture evenly over toasts and sprinkle evenly with 1/2 cup Cheddar. Top with another layer of cinnamon toasts and remaining apple mixture. Arrange reserved cinnamon toast, sugared sides up, overlapping slightly, in a ring around edge of dish.
  • In a bowl whisk together eggs, remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar, milk, and salt and pour slowly and evenly over apples. Chill pudding, covered, at least 1 hour and up to 1 day.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Bake pudding in middle of oven 30 minutes. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup Cheddar evenly over top and bake pudding 15 minutes more.
