Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425ºF (220ºC).
  • Cook bacon in a cast iron skillet until crisp.
  • Remove any excess grease, if preferred.
  • Add the potatoes and onion soup mix to the skillet and stir. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Bake in the skillet for 20-25 minutes, or until potatoes are cooked through.
  • Enjoy!

My family enjoys camping and cooking over a fire. These hearty foil-packet potatoes turn out beautifully over a campfire, on the grill or in the oven at home. We sometimes leave out the sausage and serve the potatoes as a side dish. Either way, it's so easy, and the spuds can be served right from the foil pouch for easy cleanup. Foil-Packet Potatoes and Sausage image

Steps:

  • Prepare campfire or grill for medium heat. In a large bowl, toss potatoes with sausage, bacon, onion, parsley, salts and pepper. , Divide mixture among eight 18x12-in. pieces of heavy-duty nonstick foil, placing food on dull side of foil. Fold foil around potato mixture, sealing tightly. , Place packets over campfire or grill; cook 15 minutes on each side or until potatoes are tender. Open packets carefully to allow steam to escape. If desired, sprinkle with additional parsley.

  • 1. Spray each sheet of foil with cooking spray. Top each piece with equal portions of potatoes, bacon,onion soup powder and mix. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add butter to each serving.
  • 2. Wrap securely. Grill for 20-30 minutes. Or you can bake it in the oven, at 350° for about 35 minutes or till done. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Serve in foil,topped with sour cream if desired

Steps:

  • 1. Spray each sheet of foil with Pam.
  • 2. Top each piece with equal portions of potatoes, bacon, 1/4 packet onion soup mix and mix it up
  • 3. Add pepper to taste
  • 4. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to each serving
  • 5. Put the rosemary sprig on top of the butter
  • 6. Wrap them up tight
  • 7. Grill for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • 8. Or you can bake it in the oven, at 350° for about 35 minutes or till done (they're better grilled IMHO!)
  • 9. Let stand 10 minutes before serving
  • 10. Serve in foil, topped with sour cream or cheese or both if you want
