APPLE TURNOVERS
Delicious, yet so easy to make. Anyone can do these classic apple turnovers!

- Combine the lemon and 4 cups water in a large bowl. Place the sliced apples in the water to keep them from browning.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain water from apples, and place them into the hot skillet. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes. Add brown sugar, and cinnamon, and cook, stirring, for 2 more minutes. Stir together cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water. Pour into the skillet, and mix well. Cook for another minute, or until sauce has thickened. Remove from heat to cool slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Unfold puff pastry sheets, and repair any cracks by pressing them back together. Trim each sheet into a square. Then cut each larger square into 4 smaller squares. Spoon apples onto the center of each squares. Fold over from corner to corner into a triangle shape, and press edges together to seal. Place turnovers on a baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between them.
- Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until turnovers are puffed and lightly browned. Cool completely before glazing.
- To make the glaze, mix together the confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl. Adjust the thickness by adding more sugar or milk if necessary. Drizzle glaze over the cooled turnovers.

- Preheat oven to 375°. Unroll crescent dough and separate into four rectangles; place on an ungreased baking sheet. Press perforations to seal. Place 1/4 cup pie filling on one half of each rectangle. Fold dough over filling; pinch edges to seal. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden. , Place confectioners' sugar in a small bowl; stir in enough milk to achieve a drizzling consistency. Drizzle over turnovers. Serve warm.

- Heat oven to 375° F with rack in lower third. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium skillet, heat olive oil; add mushrooms and saute until golden. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt and thyme and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix together the cheese, 1 egg, 1/4 tsp salt and pepper. Roll pastry on a floured surface into an 11" x 11" square and place on prepared baking sheet. Place a layer of ham on one half of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border of pastry. Add mushrooms, egg mixture and another layer of ham.
- Lightly beat remaining egg and brush border of pastry. Fold dough over filling and press to seal edges. Chill 20 minutes or freeze for 10 minutes.
- Trim edges and brush entire pastry with beaten egg. Cut 3 vents in top of pastry. Bake, rotating once, until crust is golden brown and puffed, 35 to 40 minutes. Transfer turnover on parchment to a wire rack and cool 10 to 15 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

- In a large skillet, add about 1 Tbsp of butter and allow it to melt over medium heat. Add the sausages, break them up with a wooden spoon as best as you can, season with a touch of salt and pepper and allow them to fully cook through. Remove to a plate and set them aside while you work on the eggs.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and allow it to melt over medium-low heat, add the onions and cook them for a couple minutes. While the onions are cooking, add the eggs, cream, steak seasoning, salt and pepper into a bowl and whisk until combined.
- Add the egg mixture to the cooked onions, cook the eggs for about 2 or 3 minutes stirring with a wooden spoon. The eggs should be cooked but still look a bit creamy.
- Turn the heat off, stir in the cheese (don’t allow it to all melt, just stir it in to combine) and set aside.
