  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine corn, broccoli, 1/4 cup crushed saltines, egg, onion and pepper. Pour into a greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Combine butter and remaining 1/4 cup crushed saltines; sprinkle over top. , Bake, uncovered, until lightly browned and a thermometer reads 160°, 35-40 minutes.

Overnight Corn Flake Bake image

Steps:

  • Grease a 13x9-inch baking dish with butter.
  • Cut bread slices into quarters. Arrange half the bread into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared dish in an even layer to cover completely.
  • Mix ham and Cheddar cheese in bowl; spread over the bread layer and top with remaining bread.
  • Beat milk, eggs, and mustard together in a bowl until smooth; pour over the bread to soak completely.
  • Put corn flakes cereal into a bowl; drizzle melted butter over the cereal and stir to coat. Spread coated cereal over the top of the casserole.
  • Cover casserole with plastic wrap and refrigerate 8 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Bake in preheated oven until the corn flakes are browned, about 1 hour.

Steps:

  • 1. In a 2-qt. saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Add milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens. Reduce heat to low.
  • 2. Add cheese, a little at a time, stirring until melted. Remove from heat. Stir in corn and 1/4 cup of crushed cereal.
  • 3. In a 2-qt. baking dish coated with cooking spray, arrange broccoli. Pour corn mixture over top. Sprinkle with remaining cereal. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 30 minutes or until heated through.

  • Stir in flour and salt.
