CHOCOLATE SYRUP BROWNIES (OVEN VERSION)

These tempting chocolate brownies have a mild chocolate flavor. They are very easy to prepare, yet specially delicious. Oven Temp: 350 degrees F

Chocolate Syrup Brownies (oven version) image

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • 2. In a bowl, cream together butter, sugar and eggs until very creamy and well blended.
  • 3. Add salt.
  • 4. Stir in flour, mixing to blend well.
  • 5. Add chocolate syrup, vanilla and chopped nuts.
  • 6. Turn mixture into well greased and lightly floured 9-inch square pan.
  • 7. Smooth top.
  • 8. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
  • 9. Cool in pan on wire rack but loosen cake at edges.
  • 10. Cut into squares.
  • 11. Garnish with pecan or walnut halves or dust with powdered sugar.

1/2 c butter

1 dash(es) salt
1 c all purpose flour
3/4 c chocolate-flavored syrup, canned
2 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in chocolate sauce and vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in nuts., Pour into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack., For frosting, combine sugar, milk and butter in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add chocolate chips; stir or whisk 5 minutes or until smooth. Spread over brownies.

Brownies are a favorite for summer picnics, and these are the best! I received this recipe from a dear friend many years ago, and I still make it at least once a month. Whenever I'm asked to bring a dessert to an outing, or if I want to send a treat to a neighbor or friend, I always prepare these wonderful brownies.

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add syrup. Gradually add flour and mix well. Fold in the nuts. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. , Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched. Cool slightly. , Meanwhile, for icing, combine the sugar, butter and milk in a small saucepan. Cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla and chocolate chips until chips are melted. (Mixture will be thin.) Immediately pour over brownies. Cool completely before cutting.

Steps:

  • For the Brownies:.
  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs and chocolate syrup. Mix until well blended.
  • Add flour and mix well.
  • Add nuts.
  • Bake in a 9 x 13-inch cake pan for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • For the Frosting:
  • Boil sugar, margarine, and milk for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add l/2 cup chocolate chips.
  • Stir until thick, then quickly spread over brownies (when brownies are cool). This frosting thickens quickly.

Steps:

  • 1. Cream together butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • 2. Add eggs, one at a time. Add salt.
  • 3. Stir in chocolate syrup, flour and vanilla. Add nuts and stir to blend well.
  • 4. Turn into greased and lightly floured 8-inch square microsafe pan or dish.
  • 5. Microwave at HIGH power for about 3 minutes. Let rest for 3 minutes.
  • 6. Microwave at HIGH power for another 3 minutes and let rest for 3 minutes.
  • 7. Finally microwave at HIGH power for 2 more minutes or until batter is set and done to your liking.
  • 8. Let rest in pan for a couple of minutes or until almost cool.
  • 9. Cut into squares. Remove from pan and garnish with nuts or powdered sugar.
