CRAB SALAD ROLL-UPS

These came about as I quickly looked for a finger food to serve for a party. I used TheDancingCook's idea of combining cream cheese with the purchased crab salad and spread it on tortillas. They were a winner, and I thought I would share. Cook time is refrigeration time.

Crab Salad Roll-Ups image

Steps:

  • Stir the sliced black olives into the prepared crab salad.
  • Combine the softened cream cheese with the crab salad mixture.
  • Spread evenly on each flour tortilla.
  • Tightly roll up the tortillas and wrap with plastic wrap.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Remove tortillas from fridge and slice into 1/2 to 3/4 inch pinwheels.
  • Discard the ends, or save for the cook (you) to sample.
  • Secure with toothpicks, if desired.

3/4 lb crab salad (purchased in the deli section)
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup black olives, sliced
4 flour tortillas (8 to 10 inches in diameter)

TASTY CRAB N CREAM CHEESE PINWHEELS

These are a very tasty appetizer or anytime snack...I first made them for a New Years Eve party, and got rave reviews...I adapted this recipe from a ham type pinwheel my Aunt always made...my family has come to love this one even better... Enjoy!

Tasty Crab N Cream Cheese Pinwheels image

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium sized bowl; beat cream cheese until smooth. Fold in the parsley, red pepper, sauce, onion, cheese and crab. Sprinkle with desired chili powder.
  • 2. Lay out your tortilla's Spread about 1/4 cup onto each tortilla.
  • 3. Roll tightly. I cut the ends with kitchen shears.
  • 4. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
  • 5. Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Slice each roll into 5 - 6 slices and place on a sprayed baking sheet.
  • 6. Bake for 10 - 15 minutes or until bubbly. Sprinkle with paprika and enjoy!

1 - 8 oz cream cheese, softened
6 - 8 oz imitation crab - or crab meat - chopped or shredded
1/2 c sweet red pepper, diced small
3 green onion, chopped - plus tops
1/2 c shredded, cheddar cheese
1/4 c fresh parsley, chopped or dried
1 tsp hot pepper sauce
chili powder to taste
garnish with paprika
5 - 6 6 inch flour tortilla's

Steps:

  • -Ina medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese and cocktail sauce until well blended.
  • Stir in crabmeat, Swiss cheese, and green onion.
  • Spread about 1/2 cup of the mixture onto each tortilla, and roll up tightly.
  • -Wrapeach tortilla in plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight.
  • -Slicerolls into 1/2 inch circles, and arrange on a serving tray with a bowl of cocktail sauce for dipping.

IMITATION CRABMEAT TORTILLA ROLLUPS

I don't know where I got this recipe, but I know it wasn't on this site, 'cause I couldn't find it anywhere. I've made them before (and they're yummy) so I knew I must have it written down somewhere. Luckily, I found it and am posting it here for safe-keeping. You can use any type of seafood you desire, just be sure to finely dice it, and enjoy. BTW, Prep time doesn't include chilling time, and the 1/2 cup of seafood cocktail sauce at the end of the ingredient list is optional for dipping.

Imitation Crabmeat Tortilla Rollups image

Steps:

  • Mix softened cream cheese and cocktail sauce together, until well blended.
  • Stir in crabmeat, swiss cheese and green onion, or green pepper and mix well.
  • Spread evenly onto the 4 flour tortilla shells and roll each one up tightly.
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and refridgerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  • After they are thoroughly chilled, slice into 1/2 inch circles, and serve with the 1/2 cup, optional cocktail sauce.
  • Note: I microwave my tortilla shells (one at a time) for about 15 seconds, before I spread the mix on them.That makes the shells much easier to roll.
  • I also make my own 'cocktail sauce' by simply mixing prepared horseradish and ketchup (to taste) together.

Steps:

  • Beat cream cheese until smooth; stir in crab, red pepper, cheese, green onions, parsley and cayenne. Spread 1/3 cup filling over each tortilla; roll up tightly. Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese, sour cream, green onions, and taco seasoning in a bowl until well blended. Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture onto each tortilla. Roll each tortilla tightly to create a long tube. Spread more of the cream cheese mixture on the edges of the tortilla to seal. Freeze rolls on a baking sheet for 20 minutes for easier slicing.
