KING CRAB APPETIZERS

These crab tartlets have long since been a family favorite and are requested often at holiday get togethers.

King Crab Appetizers image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 12 tartlet pans.
  • Divide rolls in half and press into the prepared tartlet pans. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, crab, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, Cheddar cheese, green onions and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon 1 teaspoon of mixture into tarts and garnish with paprika.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 15 to 20 minutes, or until light brown. These freeze wonderfully. Just reheat before serving.

1 (6 ounce) can crab meat, drained

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 pinch paprika

This is one of those appetizers where you "try a bite" and find you can't stop eating. So yummy! I really tasted the distinct flavors from the Worcestershire sauce and the lemon juice. It's quick to prepare and easy to transport. Great for the holidays, game day, dinner with friends... anytime!

Steps:

  • 1. Scrape fine the onion and use the juices.
  • 2. Mix cream cheese, Worchteshire sauce, lemon juice, mayo, onion and dash of garlic powder with mixer until smooth.
  • 3. Layer the mixture on a large serving plate. Pour 3/4 bottle of chili sauce over the top.
  • 4. Sprinkle the crabmeat (drain well) over the mixture.
  • 5. Chop the parsley and sprinkle on top. Chill well and serve with crackers.

12 oz softened cream cheese
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp mayonnaise
1/2 onion
dash garlic powder
1 bottle chili sauce, 12 oz.
fresh parsley
1 can(s) crabmeat (well drained), 6 oz.

Steps:

  • Let butter and cheese soften to room temperature.
  • Blend with rest of ingredients.
  • Spread mixture on split English muffins. Put wax paper between the halves and stack in the English muffin bag.
  • Freeze for at least 30 minuntes.
  • Remove from freezer at least 5 minutes before using.
  • Cut each half muffin into 4 pieces.
  • Broil until they puff up and are bubbly and slightly golden brown.
  • Serve warm.

1/2 cup butter (softened) or 1/2 cup margarine (softened)
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1 1/2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 (8 ounce) can crabmeat or 1/2 lb fresh crabmeat
1 (16 ounce) package English muffins
1 (6 ounce) jar Kraft Old English cheese spread
