- In a shallow bowl, combine butter, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic salt and pepper. In another shallow bowl, place 1/2 cup crushed onions. Dip chicken in butter mixture, then coat with onions. , Place in a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Top with remaining onions; drizzle with any remaining butter mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a thermometer reads 170°.

- Spread crushed onions in a shallow bowl. Pour beaten egg into a separate shallow bowl.
- Dip chicken into beaten egg, then press into crushed onions. Gently tap chicken to let loose pieces fall away. Put breaded chicken to a baking sheet.

Also would make a good sandwich. ***NOTES*** 3/1/2009, I just saw this recipe printed in a new magazine and they now have you add one tablespoon of flour to the crushed French Fried onions. It helps the pieces adhere to the chicken better. 10/19/2010, one of the reviewers offered a new tip: substitute a flavored mustard for the egg if you enjoy the tanginess of mustard. Great idea!

- Place the French-fried onions in a large, sealed plastic storage bag and use a rolling pin or kitchen mallet to crush them. Measure out and reserve ¼ cup of the crushed French-fried onions for later. Place remaining crushed onions in a shallow dish (a pie plate works perfectly) and toss with flour to combine. In a separate shallow dish, combine melted butter, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and garlic.
- Slice or pound chicken to ½-inch thickness and cut into smaller portion size pieces, if desired. Season each side with salt and pepper, to taste.
