DELICIOUS RED LOBSTER'S CHEDDAR BISCUITS

Delicious Red Lobster's Cheddar Biscuits image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Combine Bisquick with cold butter in a medium bowl using a pastry cutter or a large fork. You don't want to mix too thoroughly. There should be small chunks of butter in there that are about the size of peas. Add cheddar cheese, milk, and 1/2 tsp garlic. Mix by hand until combined, but don't over mix.
  • Drop approximately 1/4 cup portions of the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet using an ice cream scoop.
  • Bake 15 to 17 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits begin to turn light brown.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a small bowl in your microwave. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon parsley flakes.
  • Spread the garlic butter over the tops of all the biscuits after you take them out of the oven.

I made these with baked potato soup and loved it. Great addition! I gave them to a friend and he said they tasted just like the ones at Red Lobster®. The recipe will yield more if made into smaller biscuits. They are best served fresh out of the oven.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Butter a baking sheet.
  • Combine flour, Cheddar cheese, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  • Combine milk, 1/3 cup butter, and egg in a separate bowl. Mix into the flour mixture until chunky; be careful not to over-mix the batter.
  • Drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Brush melted butter on top and continue baking until golden brown, about 5 minutes more.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, garlic powder, and salt. Whisk together the melted butter and buttermilk. Combine with the dry ingredients until incorporated. It will make a thick dough. Fold in the cheddar cheese.
  • Measure out each biscuit in a 1/4 cup measuring cup. The measuring cup worked great for packing the dough into the cup and spooning the dough out onto the baking sheet. It made perfect round biscuits.
