GOOD-DIGESTION TEA

A flavorful after-meal tea to aid and stimulate digestion.

Good-Digestion Tea image

Steps:

  • To make blend: Combine dried herbs; mix well. Store in tightly sealed glass jar. (Dried blend will keep for up to a year.)
  • To make 1 quart tea: Pour 1 quart boiling water over 8 teaspoons blend in teapot or mason jar; cover. Steep for 15 to 20 minutes. Strain and discard herbs. Sweeten with honey if desired. Drink 1 cup as needed.

3 1/2 oz. peppermint
3 1/2 oz. chamomile
1 oz. licorice
1 oz. orange peel
1/2 oz. ginger
1/2 oz. cinnamon

DIGESTIVE TEA

This classic digestive tea will help alleviate bloating and trapped gas. Fennel seeds are sweet anise-flavored herbs long revered in Europe and Asia for their health benefits. The seeds contain phytochemicals, anti-oxidants, dietary fiber, alkalizing minerals (magnesium, zinc, potassium & calcium) and the vital vitamins, A, B and E. They also contain essential oil compounds that have digestive and anti-flatulent properties; and when ingested with ginger and peppermint, combine for a natural bloating remedy.   • Boil water and pour over fennel, ginger and peppermint. Cover and steep for 10 minutes. Strain and enjoy warm.
