Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix honey and water in shallow dish. Dip chicken into honey mixture, turning over to evenly coat both sides. Gently shake off excess honey mixture.
  • Add 3 or 4 chicken drumettes to coating mix in shaker bag; close bag and shake gently until evenly coated. Repeat with remaining drumettes. Discard any remaining coating mix. Place chicken in foil-lined 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
  • Bake 30 minutes or until cooked through.

Cheesy Ham & Egg Hand Pies image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Add the butter to a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Beat 6 of the eggs together in a bowl. When the butter has melted, add the beaten eggs and the chives to the skillet, then a pinch of salt and pepper. Scramble the eggs until cooked through, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and add to a bowl to cool slightly.
  • Add the ham, mozzarella and Cheddar to the eggs and mix to combine. Set aside.
  • Make an egg wash with the remaining egg and a splash of cold water in a small bowl.
  • Lay out the sheets of puff pastry and cut into twelve 3-by-5-inch rectangles. Divide the egg mix among six of the puff pastry rectangles, leaving borders empty around the edges. Brush the borders with the egg wash and top each with another puff pastry rectangle. Using a fork, crimp the edges to seal. Transfer to the lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle with the poppy seeds. Bake until golden, about 20 minutes.
  • Serve hot and enjoy.

Steps:

  • Place wings in a single layer on a baking sheet with rim.
  • Bake in a 400° oven for 10 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the remaining ingredients; stir to combine.
  • Spoon half of the honey mixture over the wings; bake for 10 more minutes.
  • Turn wings over and spoon the remaining honey mixture over the wings; bake 10 more minutes.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Balsamic Chicken Drumettes image

Steps:

  • Combine the balsamic, honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, rosemary sprigs, and garlic cloves, in a large, re-sealable plastic bag. Shake and squeeze the contents of the bag to dissolve the honey and the brown sugar. Add the chicken drumsticks to the bag and seal with as little air as possible in the bag. Place in the refrigerator and marinate for 2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  • Place the chicken drumsticks on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake until the skin is caramelized and very dark in spots, about 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, place the marinade in a small saucepan. Bring the marinade to a boil (in order to kill bacteria). Reduce the heat to simmer and cook over low heat until thick, about 15 minutes. Reserve.
  • Use a pastry brush to brush some of the cooked marinade on the cooked chicken. Place the chicken on a serving platter. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and the chopped parsley.
  • Cook's note: I like the rosemary and garlic flavors in the background. Brushing the cooked drumettes with the reduced marinade helps the flavors along. Also, re-moistening helps the parsley and the seeds to adhere.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Set a wire rack on a rimmed baking sheet. Put the drumsticks on the rack and season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Bake 30 minutes; flip the drumsticks and continue baking until golden and crisp, about 30 more minutes.
  • Meanwhile, make the sauce: Bring the apple juice, vinegar, soy sauce, honey, lemon zest, red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt to a high simmer in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until the sauce is syrupy and coats the back of a spoon, 20 to 25 minutes. Set aside until the chicken is done.
  • Stir the sesame seeds into the sauce, if using, and warm over medium heat, if necessary. Transfer the chicken to a large bowl. Add the sauce and butter and toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer the chicken to a platter and drizzle with any remaining sauce from the bowl.

  • In a small bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients. Pour 1 cup marinade into a large shallow dish. Add the chicken; turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
