PRESSURE COOKER SAUCY BABY BACK RIBS - FAST & EASY

These ribs cook up fast and the meat melts in your mouth! I've only used beef ribs, my husband's preference, but you certainly could substitute pork ribs. The nutritional values would change. I adapted this recipe from a favorite slow cooker recipe. These are very saucy ribs, messy and delicious! My husband calls them AWESOME!

Pressure Cooker Saucy Baby Back Ribs - Fast & Easy image

Steps:

  • Cut ribs into serving pieces.
  • Mix spices together to create a dry rub. Apply the dry rub to the ribs.
  • Heat oil in pressure cooker and brown the ribs on all sides.
  • Insert cooking rack in pressure cooker, add beer, and load with ribs, not to exceed manufacturer's maximum fill line.
  • Place over high heat until control jiggles. Reduce heat and cook 35 minutes.
  • Let cooker depressurize naturally. Remove rack from cooker (you can drain some of the liquid if you like thicker sauce) and add barbecue sauce, heat until simmering. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Amazing and Fast Pressure Cooker Short Ribs image

Steps:

  • Heat oil in heavy pan then brown short ribs ( cut up ) in the oil.
  • Put short ribs in pressure cooker.
  • Put in pressure cooker red wine, beef broth, onion (sliced thick),
  • garlic (chopped), honey, brown sugar, salt and pepper.
  • Bring to high pressure.
  • Cook at high pressure for one hour.
  • Turn off and let steam come down naturally -- do not open cooker until steam is completely released.
  • Serve.

3 lbs beef chuck beef short ribs
1 tablespoon light olive oil
1 3/4 cups beef broth or 1 3/4 cups stock
1/4 cup red wine
1 sweet onion
4 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Select saute or browning setting on a 6-qt. electric pressure cooker and adjust for medium heat; add oil. Brown ribs in batches, adding additional oil as needed. Remove ribs. Brown onions. Add ribs back to the pressure cooker. Add water. Lock lid; close pressure-release valve. Adjust to pressure-cook on high for 40 minutes. Let pressure release naturally for 10 minutes and then quick-release any remaining pressure., In a small saucepan, combine the remaining ingredients; cook and stir over medium heat until heated through. Remove ribs from pressure cooker; discard cooking juices. Return ribs to pressure cooker. Pour sauce over top. Lock lid; close pressure-release valve. Adjust to pressure-cook on low for 5 minutes. Allow pressure to naturally release for 5 minutes and then quick-release any remaining pressure. Serve ribs with sauce.

Steps:

  • Combine dry seasonings. Remove and discard membranes from rib halves. (See tip.) Rub seasoning mixture onto both sides of rib halves.
  • Add water to electric pressure cooker. Place trivet in pressure cooker; top with rib halves. Close and lock lid. Turn Pressure Release Valve to Sealing position.
  • Cook 30 min. using HIGH PRESSURE COOK setting. When timer goes off, use Natural Pressure Release for 10 min., then do a Quick Pressure Release to release any remaining pressure. Meanwhile, heat oven to 450°F. Cover rimmed baking sheet with foil; spray with cooking spray.
  • Turn off pressure cooker. Slowly remove lid. Transfer ribs to prepared baking sheet. Brush barbecue sauce onto both sides of rib halves.

  • Place pork, green onions and water chestnuts in a 6-qt electric pressure cooker. Steps:

  • Season ribs with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Place a layer of onion in the bottom of a pressure cooker. Add a layer of ribs. Repeat with remaining onion and ribs.
  • Combine barbeque sauce and broth together in a bowl; pour over ribs in the pressure cooker.
  • Close cooker securely and place pressure regulator over vent according to manufacturer's instructions. Heat until steam escapes in a steady flow and makes a whistling sound, about 5 minutes.
