Steps:
- 1. In heavy skillet, brown onion, celery and garlic in shortening or oil.
- 2. Stir in rest of ingredients, except hot dogs. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes.
- 3. Add hot dogs. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

- In a small mixing bowl, combine egg and water together set aside. Unfold pastry and cut into twenty, 1/2-inch strips. Wrap pastry strips around hot dogs, pressing gently to seal. - Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 8-inch square pan with cooking spray. Break up 2/3 of cookie dough into pan. With floured fingers, press dough evenly in bottom of pan to form crust. (DO NOT EAT RAW COOKIE DOUGH AFTER PRESSING DOUGH IN PAN WITH FLOURED FINGERS.)
- Break up remaining 1/3 of dough into small bowl. Add dried fruit, cranberries, pecans and flour; mix well. Sprinkle with fruit mixture; press lightly into dough.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Lightly dust with powdered sugar. Drizzle with chocolate. Cut into bars.

- Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour bottom and sides of 12-cup Bundt® or 10-inch tube pan. In large bowl, combine water, oil and eggs; beat well. Add all remaining ingredients except corn syrup; stir with spoon until combined. Pour into greased and floured pan.
- Bake at 350°F. for 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 30 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.
- Wrap tightly in plastic wrap or foil. Refrigerate at least 8 hours. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or in freezer for up to 3 months.
- Just before serving, heat corn syrup until warm. Brush over fruitcake. If desired, decorate with additional candied fruits and nuts or as desired.
