This is really right on for Amaretto!! It's hard to tell it from the real thing!

Steps:

  • Combine water and sugars in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until the mixture is boiling, and all of the sugar is dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool for 10 minutes.
  • Stir vodka, almond extract and vanilla extract into the mixture. Store in a sealed bottle.

Steps:

  • Combine the water with the sugars in a medium glass pitcher or bowl. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add corn syrup and stir well. Add vodka and flavorings and stir well. Store in a sealed container. I have not yet tried a non-alcoholic version of this.... I'm thinking the vodka could be replaced by additional water? and still give the same flavor in baking. If someone else tries this before I get the chance pls comment and let me know if it worked!

1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. dark brown sugar
3/4 c. very hot water
1/2 c. corn syrup
1 1/2 c. 80-proof vodka
