INDONESIAN GINGER CHICKEN

Indonesian Ginger Chicken image

Steps:

  • Cook the honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger root in a small saucepan over low heat until the honey is melted. Arrange the chicken in 1 layer in a shallow baking pan, skin side down, and pour on the sauce. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil. Marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Place the baking pan in the oven and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover the pan, turn the chicken skin side up, and raise the temperature to 375 degrees F. Continue baking for 30 minutes or until the juices run clear when you cut between a leg and thigh and the sauce is a rich, dark brown.

1 cup honey
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup minced garlic (8 to 12 cloves)
1/2 cup peeled and grated fresh ginger root
2 (3 1/2 pound) chickens, quartered, with backs removed

Simple Chilli Chicken Recipe by Tasty image

Steps:

  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Cut the chicken into thin strips then coat in the egg wash and flour.
  • Shallow fry for a few minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  • Add the peppers and fry for another couple of minutes. Remove the chicken and peppers and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add the garlic, red chilli, soy sauce, tomato purée, and water. Stir and simmer the mixture reduces and is thick and syrupy.
  • Add back in the chicken and peppers and stir well in the sauce.
  • Serve with rice.
  • Enjoy!

Steps:

  • Place garlic, chilli, ginger and onion in pan with oil and cook for 3 minutes or until fragrant.
  • Add chicken breasts turning to cover with spices and lighlty browned.
  • Pour coconut milk or evaporated milk oven chicken and simmer until chicken is tender approx.
  • 15 minutes.
  • Serve with rice.

  • Clean the chicken and pierce it with a skewer or a fork. Mix the tamarind with ½ tsp of salt, and rub it all over the poultry. Make sure all pieces are covered with tamarind mixture. Leave to marinate.
