JIM'S CAESAR BEANS

My husband loves these beans-- he'll even cook them for a special occasion!! We do love anything that includes bacon.

Jim's Caesar Beans image

Steps:

  • Snap beans to 1 inch pieces.
  • Put in boiling water and cook 5 minutes.
  • Cover, reduce heat and cook about 10-15 minutes until tender.
  • Drain and place in ungreased glass 9X9 casserole dish.
  • Mix oil, vinegar, onion, salt, garlic powder, and pepper; stir well.
  • Pour mixture over the beans.
  • Sprinkle with crumbled bacon and mix well.
  • Mix bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and butter.
  • Sprinkle evenly over the top of the beans.
  • Bake uncovered in 350°F oven for 20-30 minutes until heated through.

1 1/2 lbs fresh green beans
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
5 -6 slices bacon, crisp and crumbled
3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter

JIM'S ALMOST FAMOUS CROCKPOT BAKED BEANS

This recipe came from a friend's dad. It can be changed around using different kinds of pork sausage and BBQ sauce. I've always had allot of complements on this recipe. Goes well with grilled foods. A side dish that can't be beat. To make more add another can of Beans and 1/2 cup BBQ sauce and garlic to taste.

Jim's Almost Famous Crockpot Baked Beans image

Steps:

  • Simmer onion and garlic until onions are clear,.
  • Add sausage cook until browned,.
  • Add brown sugar and BBQ sauce,.
  • Transfer to Crockpot with Beans,.
  • Cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.

1/2 medium onion, chopped

2 -3 garlic cloves, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Prepare and cook green beans until tender (10-15 mins) If using frozen, follow cooking directions.
  • Toss green beans with all ingredients except bread crumbs, cheese and butter.
  • Put in 1 1/2 qt ungreased casserole dish.
  • Mix bread crumbs, butter and cheese.
  • Sprinkle over green bean mixture.
  • Sprinkle with paprika.
  • Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.

  • If using fresh beans, prepare and cook beans, cut into 1 inch pieces, until crisp tender.
  • Plunge quickly into icewater to stop cooking.
  • Drain.
  • Heat oven to 350 F.
