MY FAVOURITE RAITA

This is how I make raita. Can be served with all curry dishes, grilled meats and rice dishes such as biryani.

My Favourite Raita image

Steps:

  • Blend milk and yogurt with a fork.
  • Add other ingredients.
  • Serve cold with curries + rice dishes.

300 g plain yogurt
1/4 cup milk
1/2 small cucumber, peeled and finely chopped
1 small tomatoes, finely diced
1/2 small onion, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
4 -5 mint leaves, roughly chopped
1 -2 green chili, finely chopped (omit if you dont like all the heat from the chillies)

I love this and I'll be your best friend if you can make this for me when the chips are low:) Preparation time does not include refrigeration time.

My Favourite Spicy Potato and Kasoori Methi Raita image

Steps:

  • Heat butter in a pan.
  • Add the chopped onions and cubed potatoes.
  • Saute for 2 minutes.
  • Remove on absorbent paper.
  • Pour the yogurt in a bowl.
  • Add salt, red chilli powder and kasoori methi to it.
  • Mix well.
  • Add the sauteed onions and potatoes, green chillies and tomatoes.
  • Mix well.
  • Refrigerate until it's time to serve.
  • Serve garnished with finely chopped corriander leaves.
