Steps:
- Place the cinnamon stick, cloves and cardamom on a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with string to form a bag., In a large saucepan, combine the apple cider, pineapple juice, apricot nectar and orange juice. Add spice bag. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes or until flavors are blended. Discard spice bag. Stir in rum if desired. Serve warm.

OLD VIRGINIA WASSAIL CIDER

- In a large stock pot over medium heat, combine the apple cider, orange juice, pineapple juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves and honey. Bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat, or transfer to a slow cooker to keep warm while serving. Strain out cinnamon sticks and cloves before serving if desired.

- Combine spices and tie in cheesecloth; add to all ingredients in large Dutch oven.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
- Uncover and simmer an additional 30 minutes.

- Serve hot.

- Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add tea bags and cover; steep 10 minutes and discard tea bags.
- Add the remaining ingredients in the saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat for 15 minutes or until well heated.
- Discard cloves and cinnamon stick and pour into mugs.

- Stud oranges with whole cloves and place in a baking pan. Add water to cover bottom of the pan.
