Powdered Sugar Pound Cake Recipes

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan. Mix together the flour and baking powder; set aside.
• In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated. Sir in the chopped pecans. Pour batter into prepared pan.
• Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.

• Bake angel food or fluted tube cake pan 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, loaf pans 55 to 60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 20 minutes; remove from pan(s) to wire rack. Cool completely, about 2 hours. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

• Preheat oven to 325°F. Butter and flour 12-cup angel food cake pan with removable bottom. Using electric mixer, beat butter in large bowl until fluffy. Gradually beat in sugar, then lemon peel, vanilla extract and salt. Beat in eggs 1 at a time. Add flour in 3 additions, beating just until blended each time. Transfer batter to prepared pan.
• Bake cake until tester inserted near center comes out clean, about 1 hour 10 minutes. Cut around center tube and pan sides to loosen cake. Remove pan sides. Cool cake completely.

Gradually beat in flour. Heavily butter and flour a 10" (12 cup) bundt pan. Add almonds - tilt pan to coat inside with nuts. Pour batter into pan and smooth top. Bake about 1 1/2 hours till toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in pan on rack for 5 minutes. Run knife around edges to loosen. Turn out and cool for an hour.
