RANCH STYLE QUICHE

This was an orphan recipe that I found, tried out, made afew adds and modifications to, and now it is all mine.

Ranch Style Quiche image

Steps:

  • 1. Cook bacon in large frypan until crisp.
  • 2. Drain, reserving 3 tablespoons of drippings.
  • 3. Saute potatoes in drippings until browned, about 10 minutes.
  • 4. Divide potatoes among 4 individual greased 1 cup shallow baking dishes.
  • 5. Sprinkle with cheese, then bacon.
  • 6. Beat together eggs, milk and onions; pour into dishes.
  • 7. Bake at 350 degrees oven 20 to 25 minutes for until set.
  • 8. Garnish.

8 slice bacon
2 c frozen hash brown potatoes
1/2 c colby or cheddar cheese, shredded
6 eggs, beaten
1 c milk
1/2 c green onions, finely sliced

This is a pseudo Southern take on a quiche.

Quiche (Southern Egg Pie) image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute onion until soft. Add sausage, and cook until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, Ranch dressing and milk. Stir in shredded cheese. Season with hot sauce, salt, pepper and sugar.
  • Spread sausage mixture in the bottom of crust. Cover with egg mixture, and shake lightly to remove air, and to level contents.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until filling is puffed and golden brown. Remove from oven, prick top with a knife, and let cool 10 minutes before serving.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add broccoli and onion; cook and stir until broccoli is crisp-tender. Stir in greens and garlic; cook and stir 4-5 minutes longer or until greens are wilted., Unroll crust into a 9-in. pie plate; flute edge. Fill with broccoli mixture. In a small bowl, whisk eggs, milk, rosemary, salt and pepper. Stir in 1/4 cup cheddar cheese and 1/4 cup Swiss cheese; pour over vegetables. Sprinkle with remaining cheeses., Bake 30-35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.

Hidden Valley Quiche image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Sprinkle bacon and cheese into the pie shell.
  • Beat eggs until frothy.
  • Add cream and dressing mix, mixing well.
  • Pour into pie shell covering the cheese.
  • Bake 20 minutes at 400.
  • Reduce heat to 350 and bake 15-20 minutes until center in set.
  • Cool 10 minutes before cutting.

1 8 inch pie shell, baked and cooled
1 cup grated swiss cheese
3 eggs
1 cup whipping cream
1 package buttermilk ranch salad dressing mix
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • In medium bowl, combine crackers and butter.
  • Press crumb mixture evenly into 10" pie pan or quiche dish.
  • Bake until golden about 7 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
  • INCREASE oven temp to 425 degrees F.
  • Sprinkle cheese over cooled pie crust.
  • In medium bowl, whisk eggs until frothy; add cream, salad dressing mix, bacon, and onions.
  • Pour mixture over cheese.
  • Bake 15 minutes; REDUCE OVEN HEAT to 350 degrees F.
  • Continue baking until knife inserted into center comes out clean, about 20 minutes.
  • Cool for 10 minutes on wire rack before slicing.

2 cups crushed butter flavored crackers (like Ritz)
6 tablespoons butter, melted
6 slices cooked bacon, drained and crumbled
2 cups swiss cheese, shredded
4 eggs
2 cups heavy cream (I use Half & Half)
0.25 (1 1/4 ounce) package ranch dressing mix (up to 1/2 pkg.)
