Sheepherders Dip Aka Spinach Dip Recipes

Steps:

• 1. Cook spinach according to package directions
• 2. Mix onions,water chestnuts, soup mix, mayonaise, sour cream,stir well.
• 3. Stir well and add spinach
• 4. hollow out a loaf of round bread and cut the inside pieces into smaller pieces. Put the dip inside the bread bowl with the pieces surrounding it for dipping into the bowl. Refridgerate till serving time. You can make this a day ahead and store in a container and fill just before serving.

Steps:

• In a medium bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, dry leek soup mix, water chestnuts and chopped spinach. Chill in the refrigerator 6 hours, or overnight.
• Remove top and interior of sourdough bread. Fill with mayonnaise mixture. Tear removed bread chunks into pieces for dipping.

Steps:

• In a blender or food processor, finely mince the garlic and scallions. Add the remaining ingredients, except the bread and paprika and blend until smooth. Taste and adjust the seasonings. Refrigerate for up to 2 days. Just before serving, make a bread bowl: Cut about an inch off the top of the round of bread and save it for a lid. Remove the bread from the center, hollowing out the loaf. Stir the dip well and place in the bread bowl. Sprinkle lightly with paprika. Serve the removed bread chunks along with crudites for dipping.

Steps:

• Hollow out the bread and break into bite size pieces, set aside.
• Combine all other ingredients and mix well
• Pour into the hollow bread bowl. Use bread pieces and dip.

• In a microwave-safe bowl, combine spinach and water. Cover and microwave on high for 45-60 seconds or until wilted; drain. Cool slightly and squeeze dry. , In a small bowl, combine the water chestnuts, sour cream, mayonnaise, soup mix, onion and spinach. Chill for at least 1 hour. Serve with crackers.

Steps:

• Add olive oil to saucepan and cook spinach over high heat until wilted as directed on package. Set aside. In medium saucepan, heat butter, add onion. Cook until clear. Add flour, stirring constantly until a roux forms. Add spinach and green chilis. Cook and stir until well mixed. Add cream and cook until it boils. Reduce heat and gradually add cream cheese and velveeta cheese until melted. Stir in salt, pepper, cilantro, and sugar. Serve right away with chips.
