EASY LASAGNA II

My family loves lasagna, but sometimes I lack the time for the long version. This is easy and satisfies everyone. Try it tonight!

Easy Lasagna II image

Steps:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat brown the ground beef. Drain the grease. Add spaghetti sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, 2 cups of the mozzarella cheese, eggs, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, dried parsley, salt and ground black pepper.
  • To assemble, in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish evenly spread 3/4 cup of the sauce mixture. Cover with 3 uncooked lasagna noodles, 1 3/4 cup of the cheese mixture, and 1/4 cup sauce. Repeat layers once more: top with 3 noodles, remaining sauce, remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Add 1/2 cup water to the edges of the pan. Cover with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in a preheated 350 degree F(175 degrees C) oven for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Mom's Beef Lasagna image

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook beef over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain. Stir in the water, tomato sauce and paste, soup mix, oregano, sugar and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes., Spoon 1/2 cup meat sauce into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Layer with 3 noodles and a third of the cottage cheese, mozzarella, meat sauce and Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers twice., Cover and bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until bubbly and heated through. Uncover; bake 5-10 minutes longer. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.

Classic and Simple Meat Lasagna image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, add the lasagna noodles a few at a time, and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta has cooked through, but is still firm to the bite, about 10 minutes. Remove the noodles to a plate.
  • Place the ground beef into a skillet over medium heat, add the garlic, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook the meat, chopping it into small chunks as it cooks, until no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  • In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese, eggs, and Parmesan cheese until thoroughly combined.
  • Place 4 noodles side by side into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan; top with a layer of the tomato-basil sauce, a layer of ground beef mixture, and a layer of the cottage cheese mixture. Repeat layers twice more, ending with a layer of sauce; sprinkle top with the mozzarella cheese. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the casserole is bubbling and the cheese has melted, about 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake until cheese has begun to brown, about 10 more minutes. Allow to stand at least 10 minutes before serving.

Simple Beef Lasagne image

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large pan, add in oregano, basil, garlic, mixed herbs & chopped onion.Cook for 5 mins until the onions are soft & golden.
  • Add the mince to the pan, make sure meat is broken down into smaller pieces, as to cook flavour through the meat and to avoid big clumps. Once the mince starts to brown add tomato paste. Contintue to cook until the meat is completely browned.
  • Add the tomatoes & leave to simmer on a low heat for about 20 minutes.
  • Whilst the meat ragu is simmering, start to make the white cheese sauce, melt the butter in a pan stir in the flour & cook for 1-2 minutes Take it off the heat & stir in the milk to make a smooth sauce, return to the heat stirring all the time to make sure there are no lumps. Simmer gently for 8-10 minutes Stir in the cheese until melted & season. Becareful not to boil the cheese otherwise it will go stringy.
  • Layer the ragu & lasagne sheets in a medium size oven proof dish top with the white cheese sauce.Cook in a preheated oven 200c for 30 mins until bubbling & golden. topping with extra cheese if you like.

Steps:

  • To make the meat sauce, heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a frying pan and cook 750g lean beef mince in two batches for about 10 mins until browned all over.
  • Finely chop 4 slices of prosciutto from a 90g pack, then stir through the meat mixture.
  • Pour over 800g passata or half our basic tomato sauce recipe and 200ml hot beef stock. Add a little grated nutmeg, then season.
  • Bring up to the boil, then simmer for 30 mins until the sauce looks rich.
  • Heat oven to 180C/fan/160C/gas 4 and lightly oil an ovenproof dish (about 30 x 20cm).
  • Spoon one third of the meat sauce into the dish, then cover with some fresh lasagne sheets from a 300g pack. Drizzle over roughly 130g ready-made or homemade white sauce.
  • Repeat until you have 3 layers of pasta. Cover with the remaining 390g white sauce, making sure you can't see any pasta poking through.
  • Scatter 125g torn mozzarella over the top.
  • Arrange the rest of the prosciutto on top. Bake for 45 mins until the top is bubbling and lightly browned.

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 400°. Peel and finely chop the garlic. Cook the beef and garlic in the skillet over medium heat about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is brown; drain.
  • Stir the Italian seasoning and spaghetti sauce into the beef. Spread 1/4 cup of the beef mixture in the ungreased square pan.
  • Top with 2 noodles, placing them so they do not overlap or touch the sides of the pan because they will expand as they bake. Spread about 1/2 cup of the remaining beef mixture over the noodles.
  • Spread about 1/2 cup of the cottage cheese over the beef mixture. Sprinkle with about 1/3 cup of the mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat layering twice more, beginning with 2 more noodles and following directions in steps 3 and 4 Sprinkle with the parmesan cheese.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake 30 minutes. Carefully remove the foil, and continue baking about 10 minutes longer or until lasagna is bubbly around the edges and looks very hot. Let stand 10 minutes, so the lasagna will become easier to cut and serve.

  • Cook lasagna sheets according to package instructions. I recommend cooking your noodles until just slightly harder than you like them. They'll continue to cook in the oven, so it's fine if they're not fully softened. Drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  • Add butter, olive oil, and your onion to a large skillet. Place over medium heat and cook until the onions soften and turn translucent (about 3 to 5 minutes). Add the garlic and cook with the onions for another minute or so.
  • Add your beef to the pan. Brown the beef and break it up while you cook it. If you find there's a lot of liquid in your pan, drain the beef mixture and continue cooking until it browns slightly (about 5 to 10 minutes).
  • Add basil, oregano, celery salt, sugar, salt, and tomato paste. Cook for another minute or so just to toast and blend everything together. Add your tomato puree and water. Bring the sauce to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for about 10 minutes (just to thicken the sauce slightly).
