Southern Cream Cookies Recipe 45

Steps:

• Cream shortening and 2 cups sugar.
• Add eggs, vanilla, sour cream, lemon juice and lemon extract.
• Mix well.
• In separate bowl, mix flour with baking powder, salt and baking soda.
• Add to creamed mixture.
• Drop from spoon onto greased cookie sheet.
• Grease bottom of small glass, dip into sugar and gently press cookie flat.
• Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
• In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and shortening. Add the eggs and vanilla; mix well. Stir in the sour cream. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Finally, stir in the chopped black walnuts.
• Drop cookies by teaspoonful onto a cookie sheet. In a small saucer, stir together the cinnamon and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Grease the bottom of a drinking glass and dip it into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Press down on each cookie to flatten slightly. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes. These cookies travel and freeze well.

Steps:

• Heat oven to 375°F.
• Beat melted white baking chips, sugar and butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Stir in sour cream, vanilla and egg. Stir in flour, baking powder and baking soda until well blended. Stir in chocolate and pecans.
• Drop dough by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
• Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

Steps:

• Mix together to sprinkle on top of cookies: 3 T. sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and sour cream. Mix well. Mix dry ingredients together and add with chips, to the shortening/sugar mixture. Drop by heaping teaspoon on cookie sheet. Dip a glass into softened butter and then into cinnamon sugar mix to flatten. Bake at 350' 12-15 minutes

Steps:

• Cream together 1 1/2 cups white sugar, butter or margarine, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and eggs. Add sour cream.
• Mix together 5 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, baking powder and baking soda. Gradually add to the egg-sugar mixture.
• Cover and chill dough for 1 hour.
• Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
• Roll out on lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out cookies. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet for 10 - 12 minutes.
• To Make Frosting: In small bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat together the softened cream cheese and evaporated milk until smooth. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/8 teaspoon salt and confectioners' sugar. Beat until well blended. Color as desired and frost cooled cookies.

• Combine baking soda and sour cream.
• Cream butter and sugar.
• Add eggs, one at a time, blending well after each.
• Blend in vanilla.
• Blend in sour cream and baking soda.
• Combine baking powder and flour and add to sour cream mixture.
• Refrigerate until easy to handle, usually at least an hour.
• Roll out dough about 1/2 inch thick and cut into shapes.
• Bake at 325F(Note:temp varies or different ovens)for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
