GROUND BEEF SPAGHETTI SKILLET
I remember my grandma making this stovetop supper many times-we always loved Granny's spaghetti! My husband and I now enjoy making it. You can easily substitute ground turkey for the ground beef if that's what you have on hand. -Jill Thomas, Washington, Indiana

- In a Dutch oven, cook beef, green pepper, onion and garlic over medium heat until beef is no longer pink and vegetables are tender, 8-10 minutes, breaking beef into crumbles; drain. , Add water, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, jelly and salt. Bring to a boil. Stir in spaghetti. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, until spaghetti is tender, 6-8 minutes.

- Combine ground beef, onion, garlic, and green pepper in a large saucepan. Cook and stir until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain grease.
- Stir diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste into the pan. Season with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer spaghetti sauce for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Steps:
- Cook and stir bacon in large saucepan on medium heat until crisp. Use slotted spoon to remove bacon from pan; drain on paper towels. Discard all but 1 Tbsp. drippings from pan.
- Add mushrooms, onions and carrots to reserved drippings; cook 5 to 8 min. or until mushrooms are tender with their liquid is cooked off, stirring frequently. Remove vegetables from saucepan.
- Brown ground beef in same saucepan; drain. Add pasta sauce and bacon; mix well. Bring to boil. Cover; simmer on medium-low heat 15 min., stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in separate pan as directed on package, omitting salt.
- Drain spaghetti, reserving 1/2 cup of the cooking water. Add spaghetti to meat sauce; mix lightly. If necessary, add enough of the reserved cooking water until sauce is of desired consistency. Serve topped with cheese.

- Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add beef to the pot, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and crumble into small chunks with a wooden spoon and cook until lightly browned. Use a slotted spoon to transfer to a plate.
- Drain all but 2 tablespoons of the fat from the pan and set over medium-low heat (if you don't have enough fat in the pan, add a tablespoon of olive oil). Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic and cook, until onion is translucent, about 7 minutes.
- Return beef to pot then stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and sugar. Bring sauce to a boil, then immediately reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 1 hour. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Meanwhile cook spaghetti in well-salted water, according to package instructions. Drain well and toss with sauce. Sprinkle with parsley and serve. Pass grated Parmesan.
