Easy Apple Crisp image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Place apples in a large bowl. Combine sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon; sprinkle over apples and toss to coat. Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Combine flour, brown sugar, oats, baking powder, nutmeg and remaining cinnamon; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over apples. Bake until apples are tender, 50-60 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.

  • In a small bowl, combine cookie crumbs and butter. Press onto the bottom of a greased 9-in. springform pan. Place pan on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack., In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in the milk, flour and vanilla. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until combined. Pour over crust. In a large bowl, combine the apples, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; spoon over cream cheese mixture. Return pan to baking sheet., Bake at 350° for 60-70 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Loosen edges of cheesecake from pan with a knife. Cool 1 hour longer. Refrigerate overnight. , In a small saucepan, combine sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened; cool completely., Remove rim from pan. Drizzle sauce over cheesecake.

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 160C/ 140C fan/ gas mark 3. Core the apple and slice through the equator into very thin slices 1 - 2mm thick. Dust with cinnamon and lay flat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Cook for 45 mins - 1 hour, turning halfway through and removing any crisps that have turned brown. Continue cooking until the apples have dried out and are light golden. Cool, store in an airtight container and enjoy as a snack.

Lately I like to experiment with different flavors and put things together that you would not think to put together because the recipe you have is tried and true. Things that you would not actually think of doing. I see a lot of recipes on JAP and I think I bet that would taste really good like this. Anything that makes life easier I say go for it. I love working with cake mixes for crust and toppings so I decided to try a cake mix with apple crisp. Spice cake sounded good. I went to the store and brought the apples and I saw honeycrisp apples there and thought yeah lets add some honey to this topping also. The results were amazing and if you try it you will love it if you like apple crisp. Be sure to make a lot because mine disappeared.

Spiced-Up Apple Crisp image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Peel and slice apples so that the slices are close to the same size. Add raisins and the brown sugar and the cinnamon and toss.
  • Pour apples and raisins into a 9x12 pan. Take the pieces of butter and place on top of the apples.
  • Mix together the spice cake and the oatmeal and the crushed walnuts.
  • Melt the butter in the microwave and add the butter and honey to the oatmeal mixture. Sprinkle over the apples, then place caramels on topping. Bake for 45 minutes until apples are cooked and the top is crisp.

  • Mix first 3 ingredients in small bowl. Add butter and rub with fingertips until mixture begins to form small moist clumps.
