Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C).
- Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch pan. Mix the white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together, and sprinkle over apples. Pour water evenly over all.
- Combine the oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 45 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients. Cut in butter until crumbly. Press half into a greased 2-1/2-qt. baking dish or a 9-in. square baking pan. Cover with apples. , In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, water and vanilla. Bring to a boil; cook and stir 2 minutes or until thick and clear. Pour over apples. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. , Bake 60-65 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm, with ice cream if desired.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9 by 14 by 2-inch oval baking dish.
- Peel, core, and cut the apples into large wedges. Combine the apples with the zests, juices, sugar, and spices. Pour into the dish.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- For the filling: Whisk together the brown sugar, flour, apple cider, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a large bowl. Peel and core the apples and cut into chunks. Add the apples to the brown sugar mixture and toss to combine.
- Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish in an even layer.
- For the topping: Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl. Add the butter cubes and use your fingers to completely work the butter into the flour mixture. The mixture should hold its shape when squeezed.

SUE'S APPLE CRISP

- Prepare the apples: Peel, core and slice the apples. Mound into 9 or 10" pie pan. Mix in the orange or lemon juice. In a small bowl stir together the 1/4 Cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Sprinkle on top of the apples. Prepare the topping: In a medium bowl, mix together the 3/4 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Stir in the melted butter. If the mixture is too sticky, add some of the remaining flour. Crumble on top of the apples. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes, or until topping is browned and apples are tender
