This recipe is from the Paula Dean! It has become my favorite appetizer. If you cook them ahead of time, keep them in the fridge and then heat them up in the oven for your guests or family.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degree while preparing.
- 2. Cut chicken into cubes and cut the bacon into thirds.
- 3. Wrap each cube with bacon and secure with toothpick.
- 4. Stir together brown sugar and chili powder. Dredge the bites into the mixture and place onto a pan.
- 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes, until bacon is crispy.

- Place the bacon in an even layer in a large skillet. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring often with a rubber spatula, until the bacon is light golden brown, about 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine the maple syrup, black pepper and cayenne in a small bowl.
- Pour off some of the rendered bacon fat, leaving just a small amount. Return the skillet to the heat and pour the maple syrup mixture over the bacon. Braise gently until the syrup thickens and glazes the bacon and the bacon is deep golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve warm.

- Grill or broil, covered over medium-high heat for 20 minutes or until onions are crisp-tender., occasionally turning and basting with reserved marinade.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Cut bacon strips crosswise into thirds. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until partially cooked but not crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain; keep warm., Wrap a bacon piece around each chicken piece; secure with a toothpick. In a shallow bowl, mix brown sugar and seasonings. - Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil, this will save you from having to scrub your baking sheet. Place a cookie rack on top the baking sheet. I used a cookie rack here. Place the sugar in a shallow plate.
- Depending on your bacon how thin or thick it is, cut each slice in either half or 3 pieces. I cut mine into 3. Wrap each piece of chicken with a piece of bacon. There is no need for toothpicks, the bacon will stick to the chicken. Roll the wrapped chicken into the brown sugar and make sure each piece is nicely coated in the brown sugar.
