THE REAL MOJITO
This is an authentic recipe for mojito. I sized the recipe for one serving, but you can adjust it accordingly and make a pitcher full. It's a very refreshing drink for hot summer days. Be careful when drinking it, however. If you make a pitcher you might be tempted to drink the whole thing yourself, and you just might find yourself talking Spanish in no time! Tonic water can be substituted instead of the soda water but the taste is different and somewhat bitter.

Steps:
- Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with carbonated water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.

MOJITO
"You can drink a mojito without really thinking about it, and that's a pretty good recommendation for a summer cocktail," William Hamilton wrote in a 2002 article about the cocktail and its increase in popularity in the United States. The mojito originated in Cuba as a farmers' drink in the late 19th century as Cuba's rum industry modernized, making the mojito as common as beer. Only the rich drank it with ice and soda. This version is straightforward and simply perfect for a hot day. Muddle a handful of fresh mint leaves and some lime juice in the bottom of a glass. Then add rum, sugar, ice and a bit of club soda. Shake and serve.

- Virgin Mojito Recipe. I had to start with a non-alcoholic recipe because I think everyone should be able to enjoy this tasty beverage. And to be honest, it’s just as yummy without the rum.
- Tequila Mojito Cocktail. Being an avid margarita lover, this tequila mojito has been on my mind for weeks. Just remember that the quality of tequila makes a huge difference!
- Mojito Recipe. The key aspect of a mojito is the way it’s made. Mojitos get a lot of their flavor from the fresh mint that’s muddled into the glass. But if you’ve never made cocktails at home, you might not be familiar with the technique.
- Coconut Mojitos. Lime and coconut is a wonderful flavor combination. It’s light, bright, and delightfully tropical. You’ll add coconut rum to this recipe, which is an easy swap for regular white rum.
- Vodka Mojito. White rum is pretty mild in flavor, if slightly sweet. And in this type of cocktail, it’s more or less used for the alcohol content. So, vodka will make a super substitution for the rum-haters out there.
