this is a great hawaiian appetizer - a friend from the islands told me about it and it is one of my favorites!!!

Ahi Shoyu Poke with Limu/Onion image

Steps:

  • Cut ahi into 3/4 inch cubes and put into large mixing bowl.
  • Slice round onions, green onions and add to ahi.
  • Chop ogo very fine.
  • Add all ingredients to ahi and mix well.
  • Let stand 15 minutes.
  • Serves 4-8.

1 whole round onion
1/2 cup green onion
1 tablespoon sesame seed oil
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon minced ginger
1 cup ogo (seaweed)

  • Combine ahi cubes, soy sauce, Maui onion, green onion, chile pepper, sesame oil, sesame seeds, macadamia nuts, ginger, and sea salt in a large bowl.
