Almond Cherry Sheet Cake Recipes
CHERRY-ALMOND DUMP CAKE
This is the dump cake I made at Carolina Beach in July 2020.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Stir 1/2 teaspoon almond extract into each can of pie filling.
- Pour both cans of pie filling into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over pie filling. Grate cold butter over top, distributing it as evenly as possible.
- Bake in the preheated oven until topping is golden brown, 50 to 60 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 325°. Butter a 10" x 15" rimmed baking sheet. Line bottom of pan with waxed paper. Butter paper.
- Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.
- Reduce mixer speed to low, and gradually add flour mixture. Mix just until combined. Dough will be thick.

- In a medium bowl sift together all-purpose flour and baking powder. Add almond flour and mix. Set aside.
- In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together butter and sugar for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides and the bottom of the bowl as needed. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract. Don’t worry if the batter looks a bit curdled. On low speed, add flour mixture and beat just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Spread the batter into prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Arrange cherries on top of the batter.
