AUNT FANNIE'S DINNER

A quick and easy dinner. This goes great with garlic bread and a salad.

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, saute the ground beef for 5 minutes. Add the onion and saute for 5 to 10 more minutes. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste. Add the tomato sauce, stewed OR diced tomatoes, corn and cooked macaroni. Stir well and allow to heat through, about 5 to 7 minutes.

AUNT FANNY'S SWEET CHERRY FROZEN LOAF

When I was a little girl I spent many happy weekends at my grandma's house. Grandma's Aunt Fanny - who was then in her seventies - would visit occasionally, and would always bring this dish - her speciality! This is an old classic recipe (Aunt Fanny made it in the 1960's and 1970's) that has stood the test of time! We all loved it! Aunt Fanny's Sweet Cherry Frozen Loaf image

Steps:

  • Drain fruits. Reserve a few cherries and orange segments for garnish. Beat cream cheese til fluffy; blend in sour cream, sugar and salt. Fold in fruits, marshmallows and pecans. Pour into 8 and 1/2-inch by 4 and 1/2-inch loaf pan and freeze 6 hours or overnight. Unmold; add garnish.

1 can(s) dark sweet cherries (16 oz)
1 can(s) crushed pineapple (8 and 3/4 oz)
1 can(s) mandarin oranges (11 oz)
1 package(s) cream cheese (8 oz), at room temperature
1 cup(s) sour cream
1/2 cup(s) sugar
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
2 cup(s) miniature marshallows
1/2 cup(s) chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Cool in refrigerator until firm; Cut into squares; Serve with whipping cream or cool whip. Take a Bow!

OVEN: 350; PAN: 9 X 12 OR, I DOUBLED RECIPE FOR 12 1/2 X 17 PAN.
CRUST: MIX IN BOWL; PAT ON BOTTOM OF PAN; 350 OVEN,12 MIN.
1 c flour
1/2 c butter
1/4 c brown sugar
1 dash(es) salt
TOPPING: CREAM TOGETHER, SPREAD OVER COOLED CRUST
8 oz pkg. softened cream cheese
1/4 c sugar
1/2 c chopped nuts
a little milk for spreading
THEN: SLICE BANANAS OVER CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE
LAST: IN SAUCE PAN:
1 3/4 c water
1 pkg *danish dessert (2 if doubling) stir into water
1 Tbsp sugar
STIR & BOIL 1 MIN. IT WILL DARKEN & THICKEN.

  • Æbleskiver. Aebleskiver is also known as Danish pancake balls but the name of this dessert actually translates to apple slices. Although in most recipes, there is not one trace of apples in this dessert.
