This recipe came from a friend and she got it in her college days. She saya its a little different but a wonderful flavor and it has stood the test of time. So Enjoy.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steps:

  • 1. Dust pork chops with flour. Brown quickly in butter in hot skillet. Remove chops. Add mushrooms, and thyme to skillet; saute briefly. Return chops to skillet, add beer. Cover and simmer 12-15 minutes.

4 slice pork loin chops, boneless
1/4 c flour
1 Tbsp butter
1/2 tsp thyme
1 can(s) mushrooms,drained. or use fresh
8 oz warm beer

Steps:

  • Lightly flour 4 pork chops; brown in a little butter. Add sliced mushrooms and onion to pan and stir in 8 ounces beer or apple juice.
  • Bring to a boil, cover and lower heat. Simmer 8 minutes; season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In ungreased 2-quart casserole or 11x7-inch glass baking dish, mix sauerkraut, carrots, onion, water and barley.
  • Place pork chops on sauerkraut mixture. Spoon barbecue sauce on top of chops. Cover and bake 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours or until pork is no longer pink in center.

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Mix sauerkraut, apple, onions and barley in ungreased 2 1/2-quart casserole or rectangular baking dish, 13x9x2 inches. Place pork on sauerkraut mixture. Spoon barbecue sauce onto pork.

Steps:

  • Lightly flour chops.
  • Melt butter in nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until foaming.
  • Brown chops quickly on both sides.
  • Remove, reserve.
  • Add green onion, garlic, mushrooms and thyme; saute for 2-3 minutes, until onion is soft.

  • Place the flour mixture, egg, and breadcrumbs in 3 separate shallow bowls. Dredge the pork chops in the flour, the egg, and the breadcrumbs, coating both sides and all edges at each stage. Be careful not to press the breadcrumbs into the meat. Gently shake off the excess crumbs. (Note: Don't let the schnitzel sit in the coating or they will not be as crispy once fried - fry immediately.) Note: Some regions of Germany make Jägerschnitzel without the breading. Simply pound the pork chops, salt and pepper them, fry them and serve them with the gravy.
  • Heat the oil to 330 degrees F (not hotter or the Schnitzel will burn before the meat is done, not lower or the Schnitzel will absorb the oil and be greasy). Use just enough oil so that the Schnitzels "swim" in it. Fry the Schnitzel for about 2-3 minutes on both sides until a deep golden brown. Transfer briefly to a plate lined with paper towels.
  • Serve immediately topped with Homemade Brown Mushroom Gravy and garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
