this is definitely a texas influenced bbq sauce...but without the tomato base...and definitely without the kansas city/memphis vinegar base!!!!

  • add all ingredients into one pot --
  • bring to a boil -- then simmer for 20 minutes -- .

1 (24 ounce) can peaches
1 (12 ounce) jar Dijon mustard
2 fresh garlic cloves or 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 tablespoons mustard powder
12 ounces beer

Kansas City BBQ Sauce image

Steps:

  • Heat oil in saucepan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Whisk in remaining ingredients, except for liquid smoke, and bring to boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium and simmer until mixture is thick and has reduced to 4 cups, about 1 hour.
  • Stir in liquid smoke, if using.
  • Sauce can be refrigerated in airtight container for up to 1 week.

2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 onion, minced
4 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 cup root beer
1 cup cider vinegar
1 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup tomato paste
1/2 cup ketchup

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)

MEMPHIS BBQ SAUCE

This BBQ sauce is super easy and totally awesome! You can use it immediately but it does get better when it sits. This sauce is gooey, spicy and sweet. If you do not like hot/spicy foods simply adjust or omit the pepper sauce and pepper flakes. I add some pan drippings/marinade that I strained and removed the fat but the sauce is still delicious with out it.

  • Combine all the ingredients except for oil.
  • Bring to a low boil, stirring often.
  • Using a splatter screen, reduce heat and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in oil until blended.
  • Store in a sealed container in refrigerator.
